I'm very aware that this is a beauty blog but I adore the festive season (more than any adult really should) and wanted to do something to mark the occasion. So in the run up to the big day I have decided to join in with Blogmas - I know the general idea is to blog daily but as I do that anyway so I have altered the plan slightly. Each day I will blog one Christmas based post that isn't necessarily beauty related and hopefully along the way share some of my family's Christmas traditions. Next year I'll hopefully be comfortable enough on camera that I will be able to vlog but until then...
Growing up the 1st of December was always an exciting time as it meant finally opening that little number one door on your advent calendar that has taunted you for months. As a child I would always glare at my calendar days in advance and know exactly where the elusive day 1 door was ready for the big day. I'd love to say my control as an adult was on the same level but as you will know I have already opened up in entirety both my Yankee Advent Calendar (spoiler post here) and my Latest in Beauty version too (spoiler post here).
However I did manage to leave my Chocolate version and my Ciate Mini Mani Advent calendar well alone which I'm rather proud of...sad I know. Speaking of being sad I also bought my two cats a Dreamies version for them to share and this may be my inner cat lady speaking but I am so impressed. Behind each door is around 10 Dreamies cat treats and on the big day there is a cat toy. Not bad at all for £3! You can find it here with free p&p - link.
I know the 1st is Christmas Tree day for most but sadly my family have the 12 days before and 12 days after tradition so my home isn't quite as festive as I'd like it but hey tradition is tradition and the 12th isn't that far off anyway.
Only 24 days to go...
You have way more willpower than me, don't think I've ever had an advent calendar that I haven't torn the doors off in one go! haha
ReplyDeletePS - would love to see vlogmas next year but I know how you feel, even though I would love to do Youtube, I just feel and look awkward on camera. Think it's best for everyone if I stick to blogging.

My mom makes my adventcalendar, she has to hide it so I won't peek. When I was younger I used to get up when my parents were asleep and open all the packages to see what I would get and tried to close them again thinking I wouldn't get caught.
ReplyDeleteAwh that's so cute you got your cats advent calendars. You should definitely do a vlog I would love that, but agree that cameras are horrible. I don't like the way I look either. Xx
ReplyDeleteI sacrificed my chance of an advent calendar this year by getting my cat the Dreamies version - my Mum stood shaking her head whilst I took this to the till. Crazy cat ladies UNITE.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had as many advent calendars as you! However I am happy with chocolate! I'm doing blogmas too.
