Real Techniques Sam's Picks Brush Set

Chances are if you are a beauty lover (and of course able to purchase them) you will have at least one Real Techniques brush in your kit? For me it was the blush brush that fuelled any future purchases - it is tapered, supper soft and gives the most beautiful soft focus finish and given that it is half the price of the likes of MAC I was hooked on the spot. If you have yet to try the Real Techniques brushes then I don't think their has been a better kit to begin with than the Real Techniques Sam's Picks Brush Set. This set features 6 brushes one of which is exclusive to such kit and all of which have been hand selected by Sam Chapman who you may know as one half of Pixiwoo. The brushes selected include:

Real Techniques Multi-Task Brush - a large fluffy slightly fanned brush that has been created with the intended use being powder be for blush, setting powder or bronzer. I personally like it for covering large areas and have been using it with setting powder. As it is somewhat flat it doesn't offer all that much in terms of precision so I don't recommend it for contouring or highlighting but to dust on powder and buff into the skin you can not beat it.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush - In my eyes this is a foundation brush and what a brush at that. If you dream of an airbrush finish then this is the brush to go for. It truly makes light work of buffering foundation be it liquid, cream or powder form into the skin for a seamless finish. I tend to be a little heavy handed when it comes to foundation and I find that this brush prevents me from over applying yet doesn't alter the finish of my foundation. You can also use it to apply cream blushes for a soft, glowy finish - it works a dream with the Make-Up Forever Cream blushes as a side note.

Real Techniques Essential Crease Brush - There isn't all that much I can truly say about a brush of this kind other than it super soft which is important when using on such a delicate area of the face and the tapered head allows for precision and control. If you find blending out eyeshadow a little tricky (and who doesn't) then a brush of this kind can certainly help you rid any eye looks of harsh lines. I found this brush to be really similar to MAC's 224 brush.

Real Techniques Setting Brush - This is my favourite brush from the kit so much so that I am going to buy another two, why? Well not only is this small but well sized tapered brush perfect for applying powder to the under eye area but the shape lends itself well to my contouring and highlighting needs. The small tapered head fits perfectly into the cheekbone area and makes light work of contouring and as it can be used for precise application it also works beautifully with powder highlighters. Yep I need another two.

Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush - In my opinion this is too small to be a foundation brush unless using it for a touch up or something of that nature, other wise the small flat paddle style brush would take forever to cover an entire face. I have found this to better suited to concealer be it applying it to the under eye area, to highlight or to simply cover blemishes this has it all under control. It is soft yet firm so you can easily build up coverage in any areas you require it.

Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush - Another brush I will end up purchasing duplicates of - a small firm yet soft brush that really holds its shape when it comes to drawing lines of any thickness. If like myself liner isn't your strong point then this brush may be the answer to your prayers at the firmness makes application that much easier. I couldn't help but try this as a lip liner brush and I have to say it worked equally well.

Like I said above you can't really go wrong with Real Techniques brushes in general and this set of six brushes certainly doesn't disappoint. I should also add that all the brushes are cruelty free and hand cut.
