Mavala That's My Colour

Earlier this year Mavala took to social media and asked us all to submit photos in order to create a collection of unique nail shades inspired by such photos - a collection by the people for the people. I did and still do think it was a great idea, I mean imagine being the muse of sorts for a best selling nail polish brand. Amazing and I'm sure the three lucky ladies with the winning images are over the moon with the finished result and rightly so as the trio of polishes are truly stunning.

The winning shades are:

Argentum - A bright pure platinum hue that looks like molten silver on the nails due to the chrome finish and is perfect for the festive season. This is opaque in two quick coats, quick drying and an utter joy to apply. This shade is the end result of a photo of sequin detailing jacket by @JroselllenM via twitter.

Hearth - This shade couldn't be more on trend if it tried as emerald green was of course the Pantone shade of 2013. Hearth is my personal favourite this deep forest green looks both cool yet sophisticated at the same time. The crème formula of this shade simply slicks on the nails and again is opaque in two coats with a beautiful glossy finish. I can't help but think this would be great for using in Christmas nail art which in my case will involve applying a glitter over the top of it...talented I know. This shade was based on @lizzumsbb via twitter snap of her amazing fireplace.

Iridescence - Is the most complex shade out of the trio which is rather fitting as it is based on a photo of petroleum reflected in the sun light submitted by @WizzardofOzzy via Instagram. In some lights this shade reflects green, in others purple and other gold, very cool indeed. Again this needed two coats to become opaque and has an almost foil finish.

If you could create your own nail polish shade what would it be?
