Gift guides are great - gosh knows how many times I have taken inspiration from fellow bloggers Christmas gift posts for others and my list to Santa but sometimes you want to know a little something extra about such gifts? I won't be reviewing or featuring countless gifts for that matter but those that catch my eye and are great value will be making an appearance in the coming weeks. Kicking things off we have an Orla Kiely Basil and Mint Home Fragrance Gift Set.
At £25 I wouldn't deem the Orla Kiely Basil and Mint Home Fragrance Gift Set to be a stocking stuffer more of a solo gift for a best friend, a neighbour or a very generous secret Santa. In terms of value you are actually making a pretty decent saving as the full sized candle and reed diffuser of this fragrance are £25 each! Of course the products inside are slightly smaller in size - 75g for the candle and 30ml for the diffuser but they still pack a punch.
Orla Kiely is famed for her simply but chic prints one of which not only features on the gift box (saves time and money on wrapping) but also on the candle and diffuser bottle. In my opinion it has a very retro almost 60's vibe and will suit the majority of tastes as will the fragrance. As mentioned above you get a 75g candle which has been made with 100% vegetal wax for a clean burn. Both products share the same scent - Basil and Mint which is light, refreshing and oddly very more-ish. By that I mean you will find yourself picking up the candle and inhaling it more times than you wish. The fragrance has the essence of a soft spring morning and is rather revitalising. Neither product is overwhelmingly fragranced so you can use both at the same time should you wish and as far as scents go for home products I deem this to be one of the "safe" choices in that I would imagine you will find it difficult to find anyone who doesn't like it.
