"Adventurous and fiery, your enthusiastic nature makes you the life of the party."

I'm by no means a typical Aries (I was born on the 13th of April) and honestly don't fully subscribe to horoscopes but I do appreciate a pretty but practical trinket. Even if horoscopes are not your thing in the slightest I pretty sure you would be hard pushed to find a beauty junkie who would say no to an Estee Lauder Zodiac Pressed Powder Compact.

So yes I'm an Aries (I always wanted to be a Leo for all the feline related fodder) and on my compact (which is refillable) is an intricate Ram complete with two crystals which is also fitting as diamond is the birthstone for such star sign. I almost feel like a Victorian lady when I hold this compact as it is so detailed, tiny and oddly heavy. The weight gives it a luxurious feel not that it was lacking in such department put it this way when you pull this out on the morning commute it will gain more than a few admiring glances!

As mentioned this is a pressed powder compact which is refillable and contains a fairly suit all shade Lucidity which is Estee Lauder's take on translucent pressed powder. The powder itself is wonderful - a finely milled offering that not only mattifies and adds a touch of luminosity to the skin but offers a soft focus effect, instantly minimizing the look of lines, wrinkles and of course enlarged pores. It feels lightweight on the skin, doesn't highlight dry areas and will keep you shine free for up to 6 hours. The shade should be suitable for most but deeper complexions may find it to be a little ashen. Due to the size this compact is not intended to be used as your everyday powder i.e one you use to set your entire face but rather for on the spot touch up's which is easily done with the provided powder puff.

If you like the idea of the Zodiac compacts but not so much the pressed powder there is also a solid perfume variation.

A gift that combines a personal and make-up element, what's not to love?

  1. This is a really cool idea, and I do enjoy the thought of being an Edwardian lady... I always wanted to be a Leo as well. The Taurean bull just doesn't look as nice xx
