Yankee Vanilla Chai Candle

Yankee Vanilla Chai Candle

Every now and then I purchase a candle online, it arrives and the scent is just not for me. Hey it happens but I can't help but be a little disappointed especially if on paper it sounds perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon or two. For me Yankee Vanilla Chai Candle is the first fragrance in a long time I simply couldn't get on board with.

"It's the perfect accompaniment to "me" time - a supremely satisfyingly rich and spicy recipe of ginger, cinnamon and vanilla."

Typically I don't purchase spice based scents but I was hoping that the Vanilla in the line up would have softened the fragrance and would make for a mellow scent with a slight kick that would perhaps mimic the scent of Autumn. Yes I live in a dream world. In my opinion this candle or fragrance is most definitely ginger based - I'm not disputing the other notes but ginger is what prevails. If you like such note you are on to a winner as it can be both warm and inviting but otherwise I say skip. In my opinion Yankee's Chamomile Tea scent is more fitting if you are looking for a soft, mellow yet warming scent to accompany a book, a cuppa and a biscuit or two.

Have you ever been let down by a fragrance?

You can find Yankee Vanilla Chai via Yankee Candle £1.25-£19.99 - link

  1. Oh, yes, I have tried several scents, yet, it is still Camomile Tea that I choose most of the time :-)

  3. I love chai tea so I'd imagine I'd go crazy for this but I kind of hate ginger. It's so difficult to judge scents online :( x

  4. My worst yankee candle experiment was purchasing one of their "man fragrances" - bacon! Yes you heard me bacon. I don't know what world I was living in that I thought burning a candle that gives of the scent of bacon would be pleasant but it was a road I went down and hated it!!!

  6. I love ginger and am not a big fan of vanilla scents so I would probably like this one.

  9. I have been looking to buy this but I don't like it when ginger is too overpowering! I would rather drink a vanilla chai latte instead!

  10. Did you purchase the whole fall new release line? I think there were six; three spicy food fragrances and three fresher fragrances. I'm a total tart addict, so I picked all six of them up and the only one I really didn't like was Pumpkin Wreath. Total letdown - I only use it to mix with other fragrances now.
