RiRi ♥ MAC Smoked Cocoa Eyeshadow Palette

I promise that today will be the last day for all things RiRi ♥ MAC Fall, I will have all the reviews live today and forever hold my peace...well that is until RiRi ♥ MAC 2014 drops ha! Jokes aside I still can not wrap my head around how quickly this collection has sold out online and today I will be visiting my local MAC store to see what the situation is there. A pretty collection yes but I'm not sure it quite warranted the success it had.

In terms of packaging I am just going to re-iterate what I said yesterday as the RiRi ♥ MAC Smoked Cocoa Eyeshadow Palette shares the exact same presentation. Like I said a few hours ago it seems you either love or loathe the rose gold and pink plastic colour scheme. Some have said they find it cheap and have experienced problems with the magnetic closures on the palettes but I have to say so far I have found neither to be the case. My palette is as well made as any other MAC quad I own and that I am in the minority in saying that I really adore the rose gold colour way. For me as an avid MAC fan it is nice to see something a little different and in my opinion it is the embodiment of girlie girl!

As you may or may not know there is (or were) two palettes to collect within the collection one neutral the other more deep and sultry. Yes both were fairly safe in terms but that is totally my thing and it seems it appeal to the masses too. The RiRi ♥ MAC Smoked Cocoa Eyeshadow Palette features four cool smoky shades - the complete opposite to RiRi ♥ MAC Her Cocoa Eyeshadow . This time around the shade formulations are more varied with four separate formula's and oddly a matte shade too! Once again this palette has been subject to many variations of individual shade names - I'm not sure if it is a territory thing or simply things have changed since launch but I have went with what the MAC UK site have provided as far as shade names go.

Dirty Cool Champagne - Champagne in my opinion suggests a peachy gold tone much like the drink where as this is a cool, silvery tinged ivory shade. This pan has great pigmentation albeit a little dry in texture and makes for a great highlight option. A permanent version of this shade would be MAC Nylon.

Muted Mid Tone Grey - I wouldn't deem this to be a grey more of a light mushroom grey that makes for a great transition shade for blending as well as an all over wash of colour. For a matte formula this is well pigmented and has great soft texture that blends out well. MAC Copperplate seems to be a good permanent dupe for this shade.

Black with Silver Pearl - The shade name says it all really - a black base with silver glitter. To elaborate a little further this is a blue based black with a soft sheen finish, smooth texture despite the glitter particles that offers good coverage. Of course a permanent option of this shade would be MAC Black Tied.

Dirty Black Charcoal - Not quite black but not quite grey, somewhere in the middle truthfully this translates to a weaker black hue than it does grey. As this is a satin formula it is slightly dry and can be troublesome to work with as a result. To dupe this shade basically all you have to do is blend out any black matte eyeshadow.

All in all the RiRi ♥ MAC Smoked Cocoa Eyeshadow Palette is a great eyeshadow quad that is perfect for those like enjoy deeper, cooler shades or perhaps on the look out for an evening eyeshadow palette. However I should point out that you can dupe all four of the eyeshadow shades using MAC's permanent eyeshadows pretty easily so don't fret too much if you missed out.

Sadly this has sold out everywhere online but if you live near a MAC counter you may be in luck!
