Have you ever saw Wicked the musical? Well for some bizarre reason that is all I could think of when I saw NYC Green Day Rock Muse Smoky Top Coat in Superdrug a few days ago (this is the first time I have saw this shade so I think it may be new?). Hocus Pocus and all things magical did also jog through my mind but then again I do tend to get overly excited come Halloween.
Speaking of which I happen to think this deep green top coat is perfect for.
On it's own it is not NYC Green day is not all that opaque but as it is labelled as a top coat why would it be?
I have layered one coat of NYC's Rock Muse over Essie's Midnight Cami for the a truly intense deep sea green that has plenty of sparkle, a high glossy finish and a truly unique shade.
I did try it over a black polish but it tends to loose the green tint if you choose to do this - for the best results in keeping the hint of green tint I recommend either a navy or deep green base.
The only downside is it doesn't photograph all that well.
If you dark nail polish but hate the flatness that often comes with such shades I highly suggest
picking up this top coat to liven things up a little and let's face it is perfect for Halloween and beyond thanks to the deep jewel tone it creates. To try it is to love it and I feel almost as passionate about the other NYC Smoky Top Coats - the original black shade Rock Muse is a close second for the run for favourites.
NYC Rock Muse Smoky Top Coat £1.99/9.7ml and is available from selected Superdrugs
but for other stockists you can visit NYC's web page - link

How easy is this to remove? I have used the Rimmel Precious Stones nail polishes and they are a pain to get off!
ReplyDeleteI love this polish!

Got it a while back. Not for me. I find the glitter doesn't show very well but I only tried it over a black.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, although I always worry about how hard these textures are to get off!

I'd have to buy it just for the name. I was a big Green Day fan back in the 90's.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty green glitter & with NYC their polishes are great value for money

The Total Opposite
Es muy bonito, pero necesita demasiadas capas para que quede un color oscuro.
