As many will know since January of this year I have been gradually lightening my hair with numerous visits to the hair dressers all in the quest of blonde tresses. It has been a time consuming process not to mention expensive but worth it in the long run as I am now fully blonde with long hair that has minimal damage.
The one problem I have encountered along with dryness is that my blonde locks can quickly turn yellow (brassy to give it the proper terminology) and look far from fresh. I tend to visit the hairdressers on average around every 6-8 weeks but in-between I do rely on purple/ash based toners and hair products to keep the blonde as bright and creamy as possible. My latest find won't break the bank and is easy to use.

Now don't get me wrong I am still a fan of the Touch of Silver range but I don't find the conditioner to be nourishing enough for my needs and the shampoo can take a good few uses to see results. Patience is not my middle name (it's Mary) and I like instant gratification along with lots of nourishment where my hair is concerned and for that I have been using John Frida Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Shampoo and Conditioner. Truthfully I bought the duo on a complete whim but I will go as far as saying as far as purple/silver based toning hair products go they are some of the best I have found.

Basically much like any other purple shampoo or hair care product the John Frida Sheer Blonde Colour Renew range helps to neutralise brassy tones and generally brighten blonde hair be it natural or the end result of bleach. Despite the shampoo being quite an intense toner it will not stain the hair a lavender hue (even really porous hair will be fine) but rather it quickly rid the hair of any unwanted yellow tones. By quickly I truly mean from the first wash. The conditioner rates highly in my books as it not only helps tone to some extent (the shampoo is more effective but this is a great follow up product none the less) but out of all the purple or blonde toning conditioners I have tried over the months this is simply perfect for dried out bleached hair. It is intense yet not heavy and a great detangler to boot.

At £4 (Morrisons and Asda stores and that is at regular price) a bottle if you have blonde hair that needs a little boost every now and then this is the range that gets my stamp of approval. You can use either product as and if needed but I tend to go for "a purple rinse" once a week to keep my blonde hair looking its best.

John Frida Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Shampoo and Conditioner is currently two bottles for £8 via Boots - link but as mentioned above I did find it cheaper in my local supermarket.
