Thierry Mugler Les Liqueurs de Parfums

Each year Thierry Mugler launches limited edition versions of their best selling fragrances most notably for the summer and winter seasons and this year is no different with the launch of Thierry Mugler Les Liqueurs de Parfums. Set to launch in the UK on the 1st of October is new editions of Alien, Angel (women and men) and Womanity scents each which have been blended with hints of alcoholic notes - think the warmth of brandy rather than the stench of vodka.

“The beauty of Les Liqueurs de Parfums is the ageing process. Using inspiration from vintage spirits, each fragrance is ‘aged’ in wooden casks of toasted wood for six weeks. This carefully orchestrated contact between the eau de parfum and wood enables Thierry Mugler to enhance his original creations with smooth, sweet notes. By also heating the casks, the toasted tones add a hint of warmth to each scent”

I have been lucky enough to smell the scents and will say that the deep notes of the Thierry Mugler fragrances lend themselves rather well to the warmth of vintage spirits. The end result particularly with Alien is a warming, comforting scent that is simply perfect for the Autumn/Winter seasons. It's festive yet not obvious, when they launch you really have to try them out even if you are not typically a fan of any of the fragrances.

Angel Liqueurs de Parfum
“Macerated for six weeks in a toasted cherry wood cask, this delicious edition captivates and innovates opulence. Faceted with surprising smoky tones, Angel reveals gourmand notes of candied fruits wrapped in soft honey and amber overtones”

Alien Liqueurs de Parfum
“This creation was aged for six weeks in a toasted oak cask to bring out the unsuspecting richness and sensuality of the fragrance. The intoxicating resonance of woody amber notes with a subtle almond overtone give rise to a new facet which transcends Alien.

Womanity Liqueurs de Parfum
“After six weeks of contact in the toasted oak cask, this scent acquired a more sensual and biting edge. The final creation was chiselled with accents of dried fruit with an emphasis of hazelnut and softly spiced woody notes.”

I'm hoping Santa is good to me and delivers all three versions...well a girl can dream can't she?
Keep an eye out for these launching on the 1st of October (House of Fraser, Selfridges).
