Coconut Oil Uses

Not so long ago I blogged about how wonderful I have found Virgin Coconut Oil to be when it comes to restoring my dry and damaged hair. Essentially I use it as a deep conditioner which is nothing new or revolutionary but my gosh it works and it also smells amazing!

Recently a good few people have recommended using the same Coconut Oil as a moisturiser and as a cleanser and I have to say I was dubious. Not because I didn't trust them far from it, it is just you get so used to using certain products be it cleansing balms and body butters that you tend not to want to try anything else. However not so long ago I decided to give a go as a cleanser and much to my surprise it is phenomenal - gently removing every scrap of make-up including my stubborn mascara with next to no effort all the while leaving my skin as soft as a baby's bottom (gah I hate that saying!).

What makes Coconut Oil so special is that naturally moisturises and soothes the skin so you can skip moisturising if you felt like it (not that I recommend it but you could) making it the perfect cleansing product for those with dry skin. It is also worth mentioning that with Virgin Coconut Oil you know exactly what you are putting on your skin - how many great cleansers do you know that are 100% natural and only contain one ingredient? Did you also know that such oil also has a natural SPF of 4 as well as being a natural antibacterial and an anti-inflammatory so even oily/blemish prone skin types can reap the benefits.

I don't use this as a moisturiser on my body or face but to keep the skin on my body soft and subtle I do apply it from head to toe as a shower oil product before rinsing off. Thinking about it I really don't know where I'd be without a jar or two of Virgin Coconut Oil - I even use it as a butter substitute when making Chocolate Brownies (if you like Bounty Chocolate Bars you must try it).

To some none of the above information will be new, some of you will have sworn by this oil for years.
If only I had listened sooner!
