It seems that all the blemishes that once resided on my face have uprooted and planted themselves on to my shoulders and back...super sexy I know. I don't care what anyone says blemishes anywhere on your body can be detrimental to your metal outlook and affect your confidence - I once when out in mid July on holiday in the blazing Spanish sun in a denim jacket purely because it was the only thing I had packed that would cover my shoulders and back. Don't let that be you and if the breakouts are really bad or really getting you down please go and see your doctor, it might be the best thing you do all year.
Luckily my skin everywhere has calmed down with age but I do have a secret weapon for when a back breakout occurs aka back-ne (real scientific term right there). As many may know I don't use foaming cleansers purely because they don't agree with my skin type but I wasn't about to let my bottle of Origins Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser go to waste. Instead I decided to use it as a shower gel every now and then to combat those pesky and sometimes painful blemishes on my upper back and shoulders.
Origins Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser contains Saw Palmetto and Laminaria Saccharina which inhibit excess oil production so with regular use it can prevent blemishes from appearing in the first place. It also contains Salicylic Acid to stimulate exfoliation at skins surface which in turn will allow blemishes to heal quicker and will minimise and unclog pores. As well as Aloe Leaf Juice and Glycerin to help soothe, nourish and calm skin it also contains Spearmint essential oil, Lemon essential oil, Sweet Orange essential oil, Ylang Ylang essential oil and Lavender essential oil so it smells utterly amazing unlike other cleansers of this type as well as leaving skin feeling tingly fresh.
On a whim I used this when suffering from a moderate break out and I kid you not the next day the offending blemishes had more than halved in size, weren't as painful nor did they look as angry and red. Three days later with daily showering they were all but gone without stripping my skin of moisture. As mentioned I have not used this on my face but as it contains similar ingredients to the Origins Spot Remover collection I can't see it being anything less than effective.
If back-ne is getting you down I do recommend giving this a whirl, no it's not conventional but hey if it works who is complaining?

I always use any leftover cleansers on my back, although I reckon this will be a lot better! Thank you for the recommendation; I'm tired of feeling like everyone is staring at me :(

I get random break outs on my back and chest sometimes but usually just using any other cleanser I have lying around. This will probably be much better to keep it at bay. Need to try it!

ReplyDeleteI will definitely have to give this a try! Every so often my back seems to flare up, I have no idea why. But hopefully this will prevent it! Like you said, no matter where blemishes are, it always effects the person.

I've tried Origins before and although I do really like it, the products never really seemed to get rid of any of my acne. :/ But I might have to try this product out once I run out of cleanser!

I think I may have to try this! I have acne on my face but due to tablets it has significantly decreased luckily however the same can't be said for the acne on my chest/back/shoulders. I will definitely read a few more reviews and try it out as a shower gel for my back and hopefully it will work! Thanks for the great review! x
ReplyDeleteMy friend is suffering really badly with acne on her back at the moment! Will have to recommend this to her! She has tried everything!
