Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid

I may have liked the original Lanolips 101 Balm (review here - link) but as I mentioned in said review I didn't find it to be all that different from the likes of Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream other than the scent, however along came Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid and changed how I look at lip aid products forever.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid

Like most I do find that natural based products to work best particularly where skin care involved and as a result I do tend to seek those out where possible. If that sounds familiar then Lanolips is the brand to look out for for your lip care needs as all their products are cruelty free and laden with natural ingredients. Win, win.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid

As I stated Lanolips Lemonaid is a game changer as far as I'm concerned as not only does it contain over 70% of Lanolips exclusive Ultra Pure Medical Grade Lanolin. For any curious minds Lanolin is a byproduct that is found in wool (more often than not sheep. As Lanolin's (when found within nature) only role is to protect wool and the skin against the harsh conditions of the environment and as it can retain more than 200% of it's weight in moisture it does make sense that it is used within the beauty industry. However unlike the Lanolips 101 Balm, Lemonaid contains which gives the balm a fresh lemon zing scent but is also present as citric acid when found within organic lemon oil acts as a natural exfoliator to buff dry and damaged lips into tip top kissable shape. As a result some have reported a slight tingling sensation when applied which is normal but not something I experienced.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid

The main reason why I enjoy Lemonaid more than the 101 balm is that the texture is much lighter - it glides on the lips much easier and provides a quick but effective dose of hydration and leaves behind a light glossy finish. Lemonaid is almost clear (it has a slight yellow tinge) so it does layer well over any shade of lipstick etc. As the texture is lighter I find it goes to work quicker, absorbs more efficiently and is also much more comfortable to wear which is due to the lanolin being whipped this time around to provide a creamier balm. Did I mention that it also tastes and smells great too haha!

A balm that not only soothes, hydrates, smells and tastes great what is not to love.
Sorry Carmex you have been relegated!
