Laura Geller Spackle Trio

As an oily skinned lady primer isn't something I take lightly without it my make-up is all but gone within a few hours of wear with summer being the biggest hurdle.
Of course I want to look dewy but what I appears to be radiant and lit from within in the face of my bathroom mirror doesn't quite translate to that in natural light...the term frying pan may be more apt. Luckily primer have our back and of you are looking for a do all kit you can go wrong with Laura Geller's Spackle Trio.

The Spackle Trio is like the Swiss Army knife of primers, one dinky little tub that is not much bigger than a typical jar of moisturiser is three various primers. In the lid you will find two various flesh toned segments : one to prime the eye lids and the other to prime the lips. Lastly held within the base is a largish tube of facial primer complete with an inbuilt spatula to ensure you can scrape out every last drop. If you rely on priming products half as much as I do this should be your new travel buddy as it contains all you need in terms of primers in one small case.

As with most kit style products some preform better than others. The facial primer is a lovely light gel based product that is cooling on the skin and creates an airbrushed effect to the skin without being heavy or altering the overall effect of any foundation applied on top. It does blue minor imperfections such as fine lines and to some extent as it is silcone based it will disguise and fill enlarged pores. In my opinion this will be suitable for all skin types including dry skin as it is hydrating helping foundation to not only glide on to the skin but to also sit beautifully on the skin and of course prolong wear. Oily ladies I am afraid that this is not one to control excess sebum but set with a good loose powder it more than suffices. Overall this reminds me a lot of Smashbox Photo Finish Primer.

The eye spackle is one of those primers than not helps to boost the colour intensity of any eyeshadow layered on top as well as prolonging wear time and preventing creasing. As it is tinted much like a concealer it can help create an even base disguising any signs of redness and/or veins. Obviously this primer has it's great points as mentioned above but I found it to be a little too heavy and creamy for my skin type and it is rather easy to over apply. If you don't have oily eyelids to contend with I can imagine you'd get on notoriously with this product as it does do all you'd want from an eyeshadow primer and more.

I wish I could continue with praise for the Laura Geller Spackle Trio but I'm afraid the lip primer falls flat and I am still trying to figure out exactly what it is meant to do. Sure a good lip primer will help grip on to any lip product applied on top prolonging the wear time and of course preventing the lip colour from bleeding. Yet this does neither it simply erases the lips of any colour and turns the majority of lip products layered on top into a matte finish as well as being drying.  I guess two out of three isn't so bad!
