Carrick House Spa Loch Lomond Review

Today I was lucky enough to be invited along to the Carrick House Spa in Loch Lomond, if ever there was more a tranquil spa locally to me I have yet to find it. The Carrick House Spa is of course an off shot of the beautiful Cameron House Hotel which is just situated a mere stones through away from the spa. Both buildings are set within the lush green landscape that is Loch Lomond, if you are ever lucky enough to visit the greater Glasgow area on a wonderfully sun drench day then I have to insist you visit Loch Lomond there is few places more pleasing on the eye in terms of scenery.

Speaking of pleasant settings the Carrick Spa itself is breathtakingly beautiful - modern yet comfortable with a rather funky wall fountain and tasteful decor throughout not to mention the wonderful views of the countryside setting. Upon arrival for my facial I was asked to fill in a quick questionnaire which is pretty standard for any spa like treatment the main purpose is essentially to ensure that you are fit and healthy enough to receive the treatment you have booked in for. Unlike other spas the Carrick House cater to your every win and provide giant (okay normal sized I'm just pretty tiny haha) fluffy white robes and slippers which again happened to be pretty large but again that is more telling of my size three's than anything else!

Today I was booked in for the Carita Diamond Of Beauty Facial which is the most indulgent facial I have encountered to date. The facial includes a foot ritual (scrub and hot stone bathing treatment) combined with a back, shoulder and scalp massage to relax you before the main event. The Carita Diamond Of Beauty Facial includes an in-depth relaxing, targeted face and décolleté massage using the finest oils which in my opinion tended to have an uplifting fruity scent. The next step is truthfully one I could do without but that could be my young years speaking, as part of the facial the is sculpted and contoured using an electric based massage tool which I found to be a little uncomfortable and not necessary for my skin type. The final stage of the treatment is perhaps my favourite step and the one product I simply must order for myself - Diamond of Beauty ultra firming mask. I like to think of this mask as one giant pore strip - I kid you not when I say that my pores have never looked better and clearer, combine that with glowing plump skin and you can probably guess why I don't have a stitch of make-up on!

As much as I enjoyed the truly indulgent treatment and trust me when I say it was indulgent I feel my skin type was a little too young to fully appreciate all the elements but the Spa and staff itself couldn't be more perfect and I plan on joining as a member some time soon!

* I was sent to Carrick House on behalf of Stylist Magazine as part of a feature and did not pay for treatment.
