MAC Bare My Soul Eyeshadow Quad

As many will know I am a MAC girl through and through (team MAC for life) and I do get a little hot under the collar over any new launch but foolishly I decided to skip MAC's Bare My Soul Eyeshadow Quad from the Rising Temperature collection .Why you ask? Well there was no online swatches at that point and on the MAC website it didn't come across all that striking, however fast forward a few days when swatches became available and all I could think about was that pesky quad. To add salt to the wound it was sold out via MAC and yet to launch via House of Fraser etc. Luckily my patience prevailed and I managed to lay hands on Bare My Soul at the weekend...phew!

MAC Bare My Soul is my first MAC quad since they changed the packaging slightly and I have to admit that I rather like the sleek design with the magnetic closure and I am rather tempted to purchase a few of the 15 pan palettes to switch over to. As this is a limited edition collection the MAC Bare My Soul palette is presented within a metallic chocolate rubberised casing, annoyingly it attracts fingerprints like no other. Pretty yes but annoying all the same!

Of course being a quad you get four shades within the palette:
Romantico - A light lilac tinged taupe not at all dissimilar to MAC Satin Taupe.
Bare My Soul - A "dirty", old gold which
Friendly - A chocolate type brown which does have a slight purple undertone and leaning.
When in Rio - A deep forest green which reflects brown does remind me slightly of MAC's Club but must deeper in tone.

I know MAC's pre-made quads don't always get the best right up but not only are the shades in the Bare My Soul palette utterly beautiful the texture and pigmentation of each shade is of high quality too.
I can't vouch if it is perhaps because the line up is constructed of Veluxe Pearl and Frost formula's which in my opinion are MAC's best offerings in terms of eyeshadow formula's.
Each of the shades are wonderfully pigmented and although they do have a slightly dry texture they apply, blend out and wear exceptionally well. If you are in the market for a cool toned slightly bronze based palette to see you through Summer and beyond this is the one to go for.

More palettes like this MAC please!

MAC Bare My Soul Eyeshadow Quad £33/5.6g has sold out everywhere online so you will have to hope and pray that your local MAC counter has this if it catches your eye!
