Sleep In Rollers

I feel the need to begin this post with a disclaimer not because I have something to hide but because my hair is pretty rebellious heavy and frankly does what it likes. So although this review may not be exactly glowing it is not through the fault of the product but my hair type. Now that is out of the way let me share a few thoughts on Sleep In Rollers.

Sleep In Rollers

Like most I had read the rave reviews of Sleep In Rollers and thought yup, you are the thing my hair care dreams are made off. Anything that will tame my mane with little fuss and I'm sold and what is more fuss free than a product you sleep in while it curls and adds volume to your hair. Almost to good to be true wouldn't you agree? Well sadly for me that was indeed the case.

Sleep In Rollers

Essentially the Sleep In Rollers are large, soft foam centered Velcro rollers which to their credit are really well made and rather pretty. To use you simply roll into dry hair, secure and pop off to bed in the hope of awakening to big bouncy curls. So with all the enthusiasm in the world I began winding in the Sleep In Rollers, securing with kirby grips (bobby pins) and began daydreaming about the Cheryl Cole hair that would await me in the coming morning.

Only there was a problem not matter how I tried I couldn't get comfortable with these rollers upon my head, yes they are foam and soft but they felt alien and prevented me from getting a good nights sleep. Eventually I feel asleep but either through restlessness or myself removing some of the rollers in my sleep I awoke to a good few unraveled curls. Not the good start but I wasn't all that bothered and vowed to touch up the loosened roller segments with a curling tong is needs be and began removing the remaining rollers. Cue the second wave of disappointment, not a curl in sight with very little volume.

I think the heavy weight of my hair prevented the rollers from working. It has since been drawn to my attention that perhaps a quick spray of hairspray would have set the curls but for me that defeats the purpose. I wanted carefree bouncy curls that looked and felt natural not a head full of product. For me the Sleep In Rollers are not the wonder product that I had hoped them to be as I can't get a good nights rest while wearing them nor did they do much for my thick, heavy hair.
I'm glad the Sleep In Rollers work for others but for me the search to quick, easy but groomed hair continues.
