Firstly I must apologise when I unveiled the new Khroma Beauty products I stated that this item was an eyeshadow when indeed it is actually a highlighting product, easy mistake given the packaging.
Anyway let me share some thoughts on the new Khroma Beauty Intimate Spotlight in Serene Light.
A misfortunate name I know!
A few quick words on the packaging - it is small, circular and not at all what I have come to expect from highlighting products hence why I thought it was an eyeshadow. However as the formula inside isn't really one you apply with a brush (more on that later) but with your finger tips the dinky sizing actually works rather well. I have to be truthful and say that I'm not a huge fan of the Khroma packaging in general, it seems to have been done on the cheap which is a shame as there is some wonderful products within the line.
At the moment I have no idea how many shades of the Khroma Beauty Intimate Spotlight's will be launched within Europe but on the Ulta site there is three various shades to choose from. I have the shade Serene Light which appears to be a cool toned rose gold that admittedly does seem to be an odd an odd choice for a highlighting product but once applied it is rather beautiful. The rose gold hue becomes more of a light metallic silvered pink tone that I guess could be described as leaning slightly lilac in tone.
The colour payoff is intense but can easily be blended out to a soft focus finish that is not overloaded with shimmer and most importantly not a trace of glitter insight!
Now on to the best part about the Khroma Beauty Intimate Spotlight's!
Yes they may look like a typical powder product but they are in fact a gelee like product which has a slight bounce factor much like Maybelline's Bouncy Blushes and feel like a cooling smooth mousse to the touch.
It really is one of those select textures that you'd have to encounter to understand.
To apply I find it is best to just go ahead and use your fingertips as your body's natural heat works with the product and helps the product glide on. Once on the skin I find the Khroma Beauty Intimate Spotlight to have a light, cooling texture that is great for adding a subtle soft highlight to anywhere at all on the face and as the shimmer particles are so fine they do not enhance any skin fault such as enlarged pores.
Think of this having all the benefits of a liquid product, no caking or chalky finish without the mess of a liquid product. In terms of wear this seems to wear for around 6 hours on my oily skin before signs of fading begin to appear.
As I mentioned above I have no price or launch date as of yet but will be sure to update as soon as I do.
The beaming reviews you give these really make me want to try them. BUT the packaging and branding is just so horrendously cheap, also I love the Kardashians make up - but a make up artist does theirs... I question if he gave them advice with these or had any input and if not.. then id not be so keen to try and trust?
ReplyDeleteIntimate.... Spotlight? Um, I might be giving this a miss to be honest. Haha. (Sorry, I'm mentally 12 apparently.)
ReplyDeleteLove the colour but I agree with Charli, the packaging is really cheap :(
ReplyDeleteI am not at all impressed with Khroma brand's packaging . It looks so cheap . I think they should take a few notes from Sleek Makeup packaging.
ReplyDeleteThe packaging across all the products I've saw so far has been terrible. I know it's what's inside that counts but there's no way I would spend my money on something that looks as if it will fall apart within 5 minutes.

This looks so much like an eyeshadow so that is a fair mistake to make, and to be honest I'd rather use it as an eyeshadow, it isn't all too a typical colour for highlighting!
ReplyDeleteThis looks absolutely stunning :) I see no reason why you couldn't use this as an eye shadow either! Lovely review xx

This looks like such an interesting product, it's a lovely shade and one I wouldn't usually think to use as a highlight which kinda makes me want it! You could definately use it on your eyes too.
