Look who is back with another Revlon Lip Butter...yup only little ol' me.
It must seem as if I am obsessed with Revlon Butters and do you know what I really am.
I am not afraid to admit that I squealed a little when I laid hands on a few of the limited edition shades which are now on both the Superdrug and Boots websites should you fancy picking up one or two - link.

Just so we are all clear and in case Red Velvet has sold out on either site - Red Velvet is not, I repeat is not a limited edition shade! Along with Sugar Plum and Brown Sugar said shades are the new additions to the already expansive Revlon Lip Butter line up here in the UK. For a full swatch gallery which I will update once more tonight please view this - link.

So yes Revlon Red Velvet, a seemingly deep and vampy red based brown in bullet form which does retain it's strong brown undertone on the lips but translates to a far sheerer shade on the lips.
In my opinion Red Velvet isn't that far removed from a plum shade, it's quite a sexy shade without being too deep and is a great slightly stronger day lip choice.
If you ask me Revlon missed a beat and should have launched the new shades last Autumn as all three are very approriate for such season, now Spring/Summer is on the way I'm willing to bet most of us are looking for brighter choices? None the less it is a lovely hue and one that will suit most.

Generally speaking the Revlon Lip Butters are well pigmented and glide on very much like a traditional lip balm. Yet they offer superior colour pay off in comparison to a standard tinted lip balm.
Each shade gives a semi-opaque coverage of colour with a light glossy finish,
they are very moisturising and comfortable to wear and should you wish you can build the colour up in layers. I liken these a little to Mac Cremesheen lipsticks as they feel and wear very similar on my lips,
obviously each one of us will have different results but this is what they remind me of.The Revlon Lip Butters have a very mild typical lipstick scent but nothing noticeable when worn.
I found these to wear around 2-3 hours some shades wore longer than others
but they are not exactly long lasting, all in all a wonderful formula for the warmer months.

Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet hasn't properly launched yet but will do this month (no exact date as of yet)
however you can be sneaky and order via both Superdrug and Boots - link
