Brown Sugar how come you taste so good?
Sorry the chance to quote the Rolling Stones in a blog post doesn't come along all that often.
If you haven't already guessed the lip product in the above photo is of course Revlon's Lip Butter in Brown Sugar. Once in a life time puns aside I have another of the new and permanent additions to the UK Revlon Lip Butter line up, so if you can't lay hands on any of the new shades please don't pay over the odds on eBay and the likes as they will come back in stock eventually!

Oddly I am not all that into brown lip shades, don't get me wrong I do enjoy a good nude lip but for me that is more often or not a pink based shade but yeah brown lip colours are few and far between in my lip stash.
Revlon Brown Brown Sugar is a light toasted brown with a yellow undertone when applied, having researched this shade in terms of swatches this can pull a little coppery on some complexions.
Unlike the majority of Revlon's lip butters this has a shimmer finish which helps make the brown shade a little more wearable on lighter to mid skin tones, on deeper complexions this could well be a great nude lip option.
Basically what I want to say is that you shouldn't overlook this shade as it actually one of my favourites from the entire range - new, old and limited edition which I did not anticipate.

Generally speaking the Revlon Lip Butters are well pigmented and glide on very much like a traditional lip balm. Yet they offer superior colour pay off in comparison to a standard tinted lip balm.
Each shade gives a semi-opaque coverage of colour with a light glossy finish,
they are very moisturising and comfortable to wear and should you wish you can build the colour up in layers. Revlon Brown Sugar is a shimmer based shade but unlike the Peach Parfait shade in the lip butter line this not gritty in texture and offers a smooth and hydrating finish.
The shimmer particles are actually a welcomed addition in my book as they stop the shade from becoming flat which I find nude/brown shades to be a little guilty of being.

I liken these a little to Mac Cremesheen lipsticks as they feel and wear very similar on my lips,
obviously each one of us will have different results but this is what they remind me of.The Revlon Lip Butters have a very mild typical lipstick scent but nothing noticeable when worn.
I found these to wear around 2-3 hours some shades wore longer than others
but they are not exactly long lasting, all in all a wonderful formula for the warmer months.

Revlon Lip Butter in Brown Sugar hasn't properly launched yet but will do this month (no exact date as of yet) however you can be sneaky and order via both Superdrug and Boots - link
