I have often banged my gums about The Body Shop Seaweed range
but never took the time to sit down and share my thoughts on the collection.
As I have just bought a mini travel kit I thought now would be the best time to share my thoughts
so I can share shiny new bottle rather than my full size half used and abused bottles!
If you have oily/combination skin I really can not recommend the range enough,
I can honestly say that if I wasn't a beauty blogger and forever on the look out for the next best thing
then this would be my to go to skin care routine.
When my skin flares up or goes through an extra oily phase then this is what I reach for
and if you travel a lot and hate filling up bottles to pack in your case head to The Body Shop
where you can pick up a little dinky kit full of Seaweed products for £10!
The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash
This is a light gel product that is soap and oil free yet effectively cleanses the face without
stripping it of moisture yet helps to control excess oil production.
It has a light fresh aquatic scent which is to be expected from a product with Seaweed in the title,
it foams lightly but makes light work of make-up removal - I have to be truthful and say I have not tested it
on or near my eye area.
The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream
A light almost serum like product that gives oily skin a light dose of hydration
yet mattifies the skin and does not overwhelm it with moisture.
I love applying this before make-up application as it leaves a great matte base
and helps prevent excess oil production throughout the day.
If you need a light moisturiser that mattifies I can not recommend this enough.
The Body Shop Seaweed Toner
This is the one product in the range I don't really tend to re-purchase,
it's a nice enough toner and great for on the go but other than helping to ensure you have
removed every scrap of make-up/dirt I don't really find it all that effective.
It claims to to minimise pores and control excess oil but I don't truthfully find either claim to be true.
The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment
This is the answer to every oily skinned gals night cream prayers,
most night creams are thick and too heavy for oily skin and for that reason alone I tend to skip them
in favour of a normal moisturiser but this light serum helps to balance the skin, reduce oil
yet add a light dose of hydration while you sleep.
It does exactly what it says on the tin and is great particularly in the summer when weather can be
a little balmy - a holiday must have!
The Body Shop Seaweed Pore Perfector
This is almost like a primer in the sense that it mattifies the skin and reduces the appearance of enlarged pores without using silicones, it can be used on it's own as a light serum like product or as a base to
apply make-up on top of - not only does it reduce the size of my pores in appearance but it also
helps to prevent and heal existing blemishes which more often than not come with oily skin!
All items mentioned above are available in mini and full size versions with prices starting at £3,
you can find them in all Body Shop stores or via their web store - link

It's a great price for what you get :)
DeleteI absolutely love the Seaweed mattifying day cream and it's in my August favourites! It makes an excellent base for makeup as it has some "smoothing" action going on, I feel that it smooths down pores or small bumps on the skin. I love this little travel kit, so cute!
ReplyDeletexx
I agree 100% it does seem to smooth and almost air brush in a sense?
DeleteA day cream that mattifies? I'm almost in love with it but then it doesn't have any SPF :( That's an essential for me in a day cream..

There's a few in the range one may have an spf :)
DeleteThere is one that has an spf in a tube :)
DeleteAh, thank you..xx
DeleteI love their moisturisers in this range. Wish the day cream wasn't in a tub though! But I am so interested in picking up the rest once I finish my current skincare stuff.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean a serum style tube would be more hygienic, I definitely recommend trying the mini kit first :)
DeleteYeah. I feel like the consistency has changed over time. If it was in a tube I think that wouldn't be as obvious an issue? I'll have to - the moisturisers are okay but TBS' stuff makes my skin react sometimes. :( I think I have enough stamps on my loyalty card to get money off at least!
DeleteI've heard amazing things about this range, i have to try it out asap :)

it really is great isnt it?! Ive been using this for a little over a year now and must say after years of trial and error, this suits my skin to the ground and is repurchased again and again - smells amazing too!
ReplyDeletex
Yes so so good :) so glad it works for you too!
DeleteI shall definitely be trying this out. I have oily sensitive skin so most moisturisers break me out or make my skin even more sensitive so hopefully this set will sort me out :)
ReplyDeleteReally like the sound of mattifying day cream! Can't stand putting on make up and still feeling like the area around my nose looks shiny :( will definitely have to!
ReplyDeleteHummm... Daycream and pore perfector are very interesting. I need something to mattify and control my enlarged pores and trouble prone skin :( I'll have a look next time I travel :)
ReplyDeletei totally agree with this! the seaweed range is amazing! i have the pore perfector and i use it on models all the time its amazing :D

I am a massive fan of this range- I've managed to turn at least five people onto it; I can't get enough of it. I also find, as an early riser, the day cream is brilliant at waking both me and my skin up!
ReplyDeleteTHis is 100% my favourite body shop range, I just ran out of toner and freaked out as I've been having to use a different type! xo
ReplyDeleteLove your review!
ReplyDeleteKeep posting great stuffs!
