Much to my utter joy Clinique will be launching Clinique Chubby Sticks Intense in mid November
and will come in 8 new shades : Curviest Caramel, Chunkiest Chili, Mightiest Maraschino,
Heftiest Hibiscus, Plushest Punch, Roomiest Rose, Broadest Berry and Grandest Grape.
What sets the new Chubby Sticks apart from the original chunky lip offerings is not only
a few new shades but the colour pay off has been amped up ten fold!
Much like the original Clinique Chubby Sticks these come presented within a chunky crayon style
pencil that allows easy and precise application and as you simply twist up the base to dispense
more product rather than sharpening you minimise waste and mess.
As mentioned there is 8 shades in the range and I have been sent two to review and share
Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Mightiest Maraschino
Much like a Maraschino Cherry this is a bright true red which does have a slight blue undertone.
If you like your red lip shades to have a vintage feel then this is the shade for you
as it oozes vintage glamour and is a show stopping bright red.
Out of the two I have tested this stained the most which is to be expected for a red shade,
it has a slight sheen finish when initially applied but will settle to a bright red stain after around
an hour of wear.
Despite being a stain style product I did not find this to be drying and feel the colour pay off
is on par of that of a really great red lipstick.
Definitely one to put on your list to Santa.
Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Roomiest Rose
For me this is one of the more day/office appropriate shades in the line up,
again the colour pay off is intense and fabulous for those who love full opaque lip shades.
Roomiest Rose is a deep dusky rose which has a slight brown tone and is one of the few
shades in the line up I feel will suit all as it is fairly neutral.
Again this is a stain style product I did not find this to be drying in the slightest.
I would go as far as saying that although I truly love the original Chubby Sticks the new amped up
versions knock the originals well and truly out of the park!
Clinique Chubby Sticks Intense* will retail for £16 each and will launch mid November.
Eeeeepppppp love :) This is exactly why I prefer the Revlon Balm stains over the original chubby sticks, there's not enough colour payoff for me.
ReplyDeleteMy Santa list will definitely include one or 2 of these intense ones though.
Thanks for the great review xx
I like them both but for different reasons but these have well and truly got me by the heart strings haha I LOVE them and want to pick up a few more...looks like santa will be busy ;)

Yes you have my full backing haha :)
DeleteInteresting! The color is so intense it's more like a lipstick, than a balm no? Nothing wrong with that though! Can't wait to try, I love my own in cherry :)
ReplyDeletehttp://rokderm.com/
Yes very much so :) the original ones lean more towards the balm element where as these are more lipstick than balm (just confused myself haha). I have and love that too, fab choice :)
Deleteroomiest rose, wow ♥
ReplyDeleteGREAT colours, I'm definitely adding these to my wish list!
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you at all!

This is super great news! I've always loved the concept of the Chubby Sticks, but after testing them at the counter, I decided that the colour payoff was waaaaay to little to warrant a buy. THIS, however, might just make me review my decision on them Chubbies, haha!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love chubby sticks and now they are more intense in color=BONUS

Well, now I know what to save my Debenhams gift voucher for!

ReplyDeleteHow would you compare these to the revlon balm stains? Are they better/worth the extra money?
ReplyDeleteI will have to get a couple of these, they are currently on sale on debenhams :) x
