When Orly launched their Feel the Vibe Summer collection I told myself I didn't need any more neon polishes and didn't click the buy button instantly yet for the next few days the collection taunted my nail polish thoughts until I relented and went on the look out for the mini collection.
However everyone also felt the same way and it was sold out everywhere.
Not one to give up I imported the shades that really spoke to me via eBay for a discounted price!
The one shade I couldn't live without was Glowstick - a bright neon yellow that isn't tacky (hello chav's in tutus decked out in head to toe neon...sexy!) that has a slight green tinge.
The selling point for me is that it is not matte unlike so many neon polishes I have tested in the past
just a bright shocking yellow that looks killer on tanned or dark skin!
Orly are one if not my favourite nail polish brand, I find the formulas to be brilliant
and the brushes are a great size and very easy to use.
What I will say is the Glowstick is not a shade that is easy to achieve full opaque coverage
so I adopted the why bother attitude and went for two coats, I don't really mind that you can see my nail lines but I appreciate it is not to everyone's taste!
If you are a neon fan or have tanned/dark skin I feel you should have this in your life!

Nail Polish Disclaimer - I no longer comment on the wear time as we all apply polishes differently (top/base coats etc) and as I change my polish almost daily sometimes several times a day due to swatching purposes I do not feel that I can fairly comment on wear time.
It looks a bit streaky for me.. Pity, because the colour is so gorgeous!

DeleteI've reached 17 but still not grown out of my 13 year old love for everything neon, garish and 'emo' - so this is fab!

ReplyDeleteAgreed 100% :) the reason I haven't done it (laziness aside haha) is that I like to show every item I review it is "natural" state so people know what to expect but agreed a white coat underneath and it will be perfection :)
DeleteI love cute neon nails, but this one is a little bit sheer, I think it would be great with a white base coat!

Agreed this shade has fun in the sun written all over it :) you are all very right but for reviewing purposes I like to show it without the extra steps just so people know what to expect before purchasing :)
DeleteLike others have said, if you throw a few coats of white under a neon polish it helps with the streaks and makes it pop more :D
