and it is not a collection to be missed with a range of 30 shade spread across three catagories -
liquid lipstick, cream eyeshadow and liquid eye liners.
As most will be aware LUSH is strongly opposed to animal testing and all products within
the cosmetic line are vegan friendly too!
Now here is the novel idea behind the collection it uses colour and key words to be describe how we are currently feeling!
"Spin the Emotional Brilliance Colour Wheel to get a personalized color reading – choose the three colors that stand out the most and they will uncover certain words that reveal a little bit about your current state of mind. Then wear the color to feel the word, you word-up!
Introducing a brand new concept matching psychological needs to which color cosmetics one should wear.
This range – consisting of lip colours, eyeliners and eyeshadows – is less about wearing make-up that’s in-season or on-trend and more about wearing colors that shape your mood. Emotional Brilliance is a way to wear color that’s designed for you. Choose colours, each with a corresponding word such as Confident, Take Control or Glamorous, and they will be significant to your needs at that time – wear those colours and you truly wear the word. It’s the power of suggestion – if one believes enough in something, there will likely be a change in behaviour."
As expected the packaging of the Liquid Lips is both cute and quirky but with a retro twist thanks to the sweet yet old school labelling system. The packaging of the the entire range has a slight art vibe - when I first saw it I was instantly transported back to my Art student days and all the bright bottles of ink I used to purchase. The lid gives the impression of a dropper style applicator inside but in the case of the Liquid Lips
it is actually a doe foot applicator which I'm not admittedly a fan of in most instances but it works really well with the consistency of the Liquid Lips Lipsticks. A small word of warning is that applicators do break fairly easy as I found out with a little over zealous testing so do be careful!
I was sent two of the Liquid Lips Lipsticks to test - Glamorous and Perspective.and
Glamorous "You can do it" is a bright blue based pink that is almost neon and in my opinion will probably be one of the best selling shades as it is a beautiful shade and although I wouldn't call it an outright dupe for
Mac Candy Yum-Yum it's not miles apart either. This shade has no shimmer and a slight glossy finish
that can be toned down by blotting.
Perspective is a difficult shade to pin point but i'd say it is pretty much a rose gold - a mix of brown and pink
with a slight golden nuance. This has a metallic finish and as mentioned a slight golden sheen.
I'm rather impressed by the formula of both shade of the Liquid Lips to be quite astounding,
they apply well, feel weightless on the lips - very similar to the matte crème lipsticks that have been doing the rounds (Collection 2000, NYX, W7) without the drying quality that comes with matte lip products,
as a matter of a fact the Liquid Lips are intensively moisturising without being slippery or too thin in texture.
The pigmentation is truly amazing - one swipe and you have full opaque coverage but you can layer it
on if you so wish without any hassle. Both shades have a glossy finish that can be toned down by blotting,
you can also add a layer of gloss or layer the Liquid Lips over another lip product should you wish.
In my experience I found the liquid lips to wear with ease for around 4 hours,
they both stain a little too but as they fade evenly the stain is quite pretty!
Wow! Sorry for the mini novel but I had so much to say haha!

Not long to go now :)
DeleteI really want to see the rest of the range! It seems really different. The colours are gorgeous x
ReplyDeletesooooooo expensive!! do you think they are worth the price tag?
ReplyDeleteto me the packaging looks cheap :S quirky and unique yes but would they withstand wear and tear?xx
I know, the packaging is what's putting me off. Pigmentation is incredible but these look a little gimmicky. To each their own I suppose! (: x
DeleteI´ve got my three emotions too!!! I had an amazing experience picking them up! soon also I will talk about it! thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteNiiiiice! Love the packaging and Perspective looks stunning!!
ReplyDeleteThe concept puts me off. I don't like anyone making claims and assumptions about my mood or state of mind. And the packaging! It's just outright bad!
ReplyDeleteBut the shades are so pretty...
Nice! Will have to give "perspective" a try, looks really natural. Are these the same as the LUSH lip-tints? They look so glossy!
ReplyDeleteI think they look really lovely :) just seen Fleur's post and she has the fuchsia colour which looks AMAZING. Is 5g an average amount of product for a lipstick? Because they're so tiny and in a glass bottle as well you'd lose a lot of product if you wanted to use it all up :/ They're beautiful colours and sound great but I don't know whether they're worth £14.50!
ReplyDeleteWill probably cave and buy one anyway like...
xxx
Aaaahhh these look gorgeous!! Now I REALLY wish Lush was available in Malaysia. >__<
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely product, however unsure about the price point x
ReplyDeleteGlamourous is almost identical to the YSL glossy lip stain in no. 17 I have!
ReplyDeleteI've done a post on it here: http://its-a-kind-of-lovely.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/yves-saint-laurent-rouge-pur-couture.html
xx
Perfect color! I will surely put this on my wishlist! >:)
