My original title for this post was "Not for your Nip-Nips but for your Lip-Lips"...safe to say that a promising future in marketing does not await me haha!
"This is an S.O.S. balm for lips. Discover the secret passed from midwives to make-up artists: that the medical-grade lanolin used on nipples sore from nursing, can work equally well on your pout. Reducing skin roughness by up to 40% in an hour, this handbag-sized tube has become a cult-buy for dry, cracked bits everywhere."
Anyway Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips began as a thick balm for chaffed/sore nipples
but the news soon spread that not only is it fabulous for cracked nipples due to breastfeeding but it is
pretty much a wonder balm that will heal and soothe any cracked skin be it your lips, feet elbows
and all that's in between it is safe to use anywhere on the body (do not use internally i.e lips, eyes).
You can also use it on fine lines, dry skin, cuticles and split ends.
With a cult following including make-up artist Liz Pugh I simply couldn't resist trialling it.
The balm itself is thick, non-scented, quite oily and has no scent not mention it is completely 100% natural and hypoallergic, free from parabens and approved by Ecocert France so it is safe to use on all the family.
For all those with beautiful curious minds it is made from medical grade Lanolin.
At the moment I have two little dry patches on my face and cracked lips due to testing a good few lipsticks
so I thought those areas would be ideal to put the balm to the test.
On the lips it feels completely natural albeit a little oily but nothing worse than a lip gloss or a soft lip balm,
it soothed and almost immediately softened my dry lips complete with a lovely glossy finish.
For a quick lip fix for dry lips I suggest applying a generous layer of Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips
all over the lips and then brush you lips using an old soft tooth brush. Soft plump lips in seconds!
I knew before slapping this on my face that it would be a grin and bare it type of situation as I really don't do
all that well with oily type products on my skin. Now don't get me wrong the balm softened the dry patches wonderfully and will be a complete skin saver come the winter months but the oily heavy texture is not something I can handle, if you deal better with oily sensations I can not recommend this enough but do suggest you apply it at night as it will leave the skin slightly greasy and oily.
For £11.50 you get 15ml which I understand is a little pricey but it is one of the best lip balms I have ever used and the fact that it can be used in a whole manner of ways does justify the price to me, that and the tiniest amount is all you need for each application so the 15ml tube will last a good few months at least!
Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips £11.50/15ml and is available from Space NK -link
I got a similar product - Lansinoh when I was breast feeding and it is the same as this stuff - pure lanolin. It cost me about £10 in boots but superdrug had it for half price not too long ago! My bottle is about 40mg.
ReplyDeleteYour original title made me laugh!! Xo
**ebay has a lot of Lansinoh products on offer for even cheaper prices too! Xo

ReplyDeleteOmg that title hahaha. My lips get so chapped year round so Ill definitely have to try this! Im allergic to lanolin, it flares up my eczema, but do you think that will matter if I just put it on my lips and not my skin?
ReplyDeleteI hate the feeling of oily products on my skin too!
