The problem with being a HUGE beauty junkie is that you accumulate so many products
and that doesn't tend to differ even when you are on holiday...in fact I'd say being in a foreign place
with brands that I don't have instant access to only spurs me on...oops!
Anyway today I'm going to share a polish from the brand Catrice which is apparently pretty easy to get hold of in most European regions aside from the UK - sods law as it is a really great brand which is priced very reasonably too. The polishes from Catrice are well packaged and have a great sized brush.
Genius in a Bottle is apparently a really good dupe for the infamous Chanel Peridot nail shade,
truthfully I never paid much attention to the aforementioned shade so you will have to be to be the judge
of that! However Genius in a Bottle is another one of those petrol on water effect type polishes that seem to be infiltrating the cosmetic market at a rapid pace.
Genius in a Bottle mainly reflects a bright metallic sage green on my nails but in some lights it can appear
more golden, copper or even blue/lilac in sunlight however generally speaking it is underwhelming
and quite an ugly shade that is quite ageing in my opinion.
Shade aside the formula is pretty impressive, gaining full opaque coverage in two coats and drying to a high sheen finish really quickly!
As mentioned Catrice is not readily available in the UK but you can check out their website
for more information - link
Nail Polish Disclaimer - I no longer comment on the wear time as we all apply polishes differently (top/base coats etc) and as I change my polish almost daily sometimes several times a day due to swatching purposes I do not feel that I can fairly comment on wear time.

ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen a puddle at the side of the road with petrol in it? It has a similar effect to this :)

Aww :( I wish I liked it I really do.
DeleteI bought this nail polish when I was in Belgium - I thought it looked lovely in the bottle but it was horrible when I tried it back at home. I've mentioned it my blog and linked back to your review. Hope that's okay :)

So glad i'm not the only one who though that! Aww thank you and of course I don't mind :)
DeleteI know what you mean about it being aging, definitely not as pretty as peridot! x
ReplyDeleteGlad you get what I mean...I don't really peridot either I find this type of shade to sludgy for my personal taste.
DeleteI have saw the dupes together and their are so similar, but Catrice covering is better
ReplyDeleteOhh really, I would never have though that! Just goes to show you don't have to spend a lot of a great formulated product :)
DeleteIt's definitely similar to Chanels peridot but i think peridot is a much more flattering shade! Shame it doesn't look as pretty as in the bottle x
ReplyDeleteI think you may be right..truthfully I don't like either shade ;)
DeleteJessica make a really good Peridot dupe! x
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip :)
DeleteI really love Catrice nail polishes, but unfortunately I do not like this shade :(

I 100% agree :)
DeleteI like it a lot! In my hands it doesn't look ageing!
ReplyDeleteI think it's just my crazy mind set to blame haha :)
DeleteShocked it becomes so opaque with only two coats! Usually polishes like that need more. It looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI know how fab is that :) do you get Catrice in the US?
DeleteI have this one, too. I hate it on my fingers bit love it on my toes :)
ReplyDeleteI never thought of that I may give it a whirl :)
DeleteOhh wow I am really loving that shade. Being a UK bunny also I haven't ever came across it though. Hopefully I get to go on holiday soon lol.
ReplyDeleteMuch love: http://missvictoriam.blogspot.co.uk/ If you fancy a nosey.
