Hundreds and Thousands Nails

Everybody and their mothers are "glueing" micro beads to their nails at the moment
and not wanting to feel left out I joined the party!
I have to admit I am not a fan, it is messy, they feel gritty and just bleurgh for lack of a better word.
I'm glad I didn't pay for the proper version that a nail brand has released as I'd be annoyed.
From a distance they look okay but up close the result is a hot mess
so i'll pass for now.

If you want to attempt a similar look you can pick up micro beads for £2.69 - link
from eBay or you could try craft stores.

Have you tried this effect?

  1. I don't get this look at all - even with an amazing topcoat, surely the beads will knock off constantly? It would drive me insane! Xo

    1. I'm completely agree I think it's more an editorial concept rather than an everyday look :)

  2. they seem a bit impractical! i'm all about practicality with nails, i'm always on the hunt for virtually chip proof nail varnish!

  3. I don't know if I could manage with them on my nails, but I think they look really quirky!

  4. I think these look nice on first glance, but I don't think I would try it myself, like Francesca said, it seems a bit impractical!

  6. I love the idea, but I don't think I could ever have them on every nail! I can see it making a nice accent nail though! xx

  7. I put a top coat over the tip of the beads that way they don't fall off and they are not that impractical, try them you'll be surprised!!

  10. Would be good for a night out I guess but no good for me. I would probably end up choking at least one of the children! Looks pretty though :-)

  11. I can understand that they look good, but could definitely be a pain in the bum to get on with, I find glitter on my nails too rough sometimes. Bet it would fall off well quick too.

  12. I tried this and I loved it . I used a clear nail polish to stick the beads on and then when they dried I put a lair of top coat on .. they look very nice and the beads didn't fall of at all!

  13. Think I agree with a lot of comments. A lot of these manicures look great but I think they'd be blooming impractical! xo

  14. I kind of agree, it looks messy and not attractive at all to me! I think the brands are just running out of ideas... or maybe they are just trying to get some money off shopaholics like me, who can't resist a 'NEW and innovative technique'. This time, I resisted the temptation to buy the so-called original one, and I'm glad I did so :) xx

  15. I'm a fan of this "caviar" type nail but I think I like it best as an accent, and in black. I can see how it'd be terribly busy.
