My Experience
I have used GHD hair straighteners since I was 16 and wouldn't swap them for the world.
They make light work of styling my insanely thick hair, I can easily straighten my full head of hair
in under 10 minutes as you don't have to keep going over the same section again and again!
Also I love that you can use them to create big bouncy curls and waves - check YouTube for tutorials.
I will be the first to admit that GHD straighteners are not the cheapest out there
but I do feel they are the best and worth investing in as they really do last
and will straighten even the most stubborn/thick hair types.
When buying any GHD hair tool, I can not stress enough that you should only buy from
trusted hair salons or directly from GHD. I would say the latter is more than your best bet
with so many fake/replica stylers out there that are dangerous and in my experience the salons
don't exactly discount the GHD products!

It is so pretty isn't it :) yes by far :)
DeleteI've been debating getting some new ghd's for a while! I love the design of these.
ReplyDeleteThe roll bag is so pretty :)
If I needed new ones this would be the pair I bought as i'm a sucker for all things peacock based haha :)
DeleteSo pretty! My first GHD lasted me for so long, but I ended up burning a fuse when I was living abroad and couldn't get anyone to fix it, so I had to buy a new one, which I'm still using, but it's nowhere near the quality of my old GHD. The only thing preventing me from hitting the 'Proceed to payment' button on the GHD website is having to part with 100 quid for a hair tool... I would get so much stick from my boyfriend, friends and family if they knew how much it cost me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review!

Oh my godness mine did the exact same, mine burnt out while in Holland and as they were 5 years old it was time to admit defeat haha! Ah that sucks I know the feeling those close to me don't quite get the price of certain beauty items either...maybe they could all treat you to a paid for your birthday?
DeleteI cut all my hair off about 6 weeks ago so I now have a bob and would never have done it if it wasn't for the power of GHDs. These are so cute wish I could afford to buy them in every colour! X
ReplyDeleteYour new hair do sounds lovely :) haha yes GHD's make life 100% easier when it comes to styling :)
DeleteI adore that teal colour, my GHD has been pilfered by my two teen lads - they're like the lost band members from Flock of Seagulls these days ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha I had to google "band - flock of seagulls" haha
DeleteLovely design I always wonder when GHD bring out new designs do people actually ditch their old ones and go out and repurchase new ones, surely not? x
ReplyDeletehttp://selfconfesionssofabeautyaddict.blogspot.co.uk/
Oh I really hope not as that would be a terrible waste. Hopefully people would re-gift their old but still perfectly usable ones :)
DeleteI have really long thick hair and am using some Remington wet to straight ones, they are the ones with the wide plate. I dont actually use the wet to straight part of them cause its really bad for your hair and the steam burns your hands, i tried it once and my hands hurt like f*** ! I love the wide plate though as it feels as though it doesn't take as long to do,i have only tried other cheap straighteners and it took ages but does anyone think that GHD would be quick on really think hair? Is it worth investing in some? x
ReplyDeleteI haven't used the Remington ones but ouch! haha :)
DeleteBut to answer the thick hair question yes they are a god send, my hair is beyond thick ( If I wear hair extensions I need 2-3 FULL packs to blend so you can imagine how thick my hair is) and they work better than anything else...when it comes to straightening I wouldn't consider anything else in all honesty :) well worth the investment my first pair lasted a good 5 years :)
I have to agree I have Afro hair and it's straight as a pin in about 20 mins so much time saved when going out!! Slightly embarassed my friends commented on how I'm not so late anymore! Also hairs a bit shinier I guess better heat pads.
DeleteThanks Pin that really helps knowing that they work just as well in various hair types. I actually laughed out loud at the late part...i'm late for everything haha!
DeleteLove my GHD's they are now 4 years old and use them every day!!! worth even penny!

Oh me too...I wish I had all 3 sets they are just that pretty haha :)
DeleteI love the new line of GHDs, but in my opinion the Scarlet version was just stunning - 1920s glamorama all the way!
ReplyDeleteIm just sad I don't own a pair any more, I have these horrible wee ones and theres not much point in using them as my hair goes curly again after a while :( x
I agree the scarlett version was also lovely - very glam :)
Deletebut the green peacock design is so me haha :)
Oh no that sucks :( I hope you get a replacement pair soon!
