Maybelline Extreme Moisture Lipstick Desert Bloom

I recently tested, reviewed and fell head over heels in love with a lipstick,
a lipstick by the name of Maybelline Extreme Moisture Lipstick shade Pinky Beige - link
Being ever so impressed by the formula I simply had to go back for more
so today let your eyes feast on Desert Bloom!

Now the packaging is nothing to behold, in fact it verges on tacky and dated.
A copper tone plastic case houses the lipstick safely inside,
it's light and reasonably pretty but if you are looking for something designer-esque
keep on looking baby!
It's budget but hey ho I can over look it, I mean it is only a case!

Dessert Bloom is a deep pink based brown - more brown than pink.
in my opinion it almost verges on mauve.
I find the shade to run slightly cool in tone and have an ever so slight blue tone,
it is a really pretty shade but pale ladies may find this shade a little too brown.
I found it to be quite similar in tone to NYX Pecan and Bobbi Brown Powder Pink
although it is a little deeper than both shades but the same vain none the less.
This shade is most flattering on medium to dark complexions on paler tones
it can gleam a little too brown and look muddy.

Maybelline Extreme Moisture Lipsticks glide on like nothing else I own,
well maybe a lip butter or two
but none of my lipsticks glide on as smoothly and as softly as this does.
Not only is the moisture levels out of this world but the pigmentation makes the grade too.
I found this lipstick to deliver great colour pay off in one clean swipe
and did not find it to bleed, feather or apply patchy.
Once applied it has a lovely glossy finish that means you can skip the gloss if you so wish.
The only kicker so to speak with this lipstick is that it doesn't last as long as I'd hoped for.
On average I get around two hours of wear from each application,
which isn't a problem for a habitual re-applier but worth noting if you require a long lasting formula.
