I tend to avoid oil based products, having naturally oily skin I don't really
feel the need to contribute to the natural oils that currently reside on my face
but curiosity gets the better of me sooner or later hence this review!
As with most intensive moisturisers this is aimed at dry skin to offer comfort
and to soothe any irritated areas such as redness and discomfort.
Clarins Santal Face Treatment Oil is a blend of essential oils such as Santal and lavender
which offers the soothing properties and cardamom oil to stimulate the skin all the while offering resistance.
The treatment oil also includes hazelnut oil which is known for it's softening properties.
The oils is sweetly scented by the lavender oil making it a great bed time treatment.
Okay so how did my oily skin fair with this product?
Rather well actually!
Once I got past the "Oh no I'm adding oil to oil" phase, my skin seemed to enjoy it.
My skin doesn't require daily moisturisation so as with all intensive moisture treatments
I phased this out over three day intervals i.e I used it every three days opposed to daily
and I suffered no break outs nor did it increase the oil or shine factor of my skin.
Yes it feels like oil on the face initially but it absorbs fairly quickly and leaves behind no residue
and unlike some intensive face products this felt light on the skin
I used this at night time and although I had no dry patches to test it out on
it did improve the overall softness of my skin.
I would recommend this product for those who do suffer from dry skin
as it instantly delivers a high dose of hydration without being heavy in any way.
Admittedly the oil aspect does take a little getting used to but it is worth investigating for the results.

Hi, Love your blog! I currently use Clarins Lotus Oil for combination skin. I too at first was concerned about applying oil to my skin, but later discovered these are actually great and beneficial. The oil works to trick your skin into thinking it is producing more oil and regain balance and control. My skin has never been so smooth and blemish free! Great buy! xx
ReplyDeletethanks so much :) I think I should pick up the combo version as it sounds perfect for my oily skin :) x

Most welcome it's a lovely product :)
DeleteWhen I first started using oils it was a little weird but i've definitely adjusted to it now. I just bought a cream moisturizer but oils are going to be my backup plan in case it doesn't moisturize enough.
