The Kate Moss lipsticks for Rimmel are not exactly a new release
they have been around for a good few months now
and even when they first launched they didn't make quite the splash I expected.
While browsing Boots for a deep red lipstick I spotted Rimmel - Kate Moss in shade 01
and as it is a shade so out with my comfort zone I thought I'd give it a whirl!
The Rimmel for Kate Moss lipsticks are packaged in matte black casing
with a red signature from Kate Moss embossed on the side.
They are sleek and sophisticated in a sense but I really thought Rimmel
would have pushed for a more edgier packaging choice?
That is all irrelevant but I do feel that the devil is in the detail
and to give each of your lipsticks a number code instead of a name is a little lazy,
I know some brands don't utilize shade names but Revlon do bar the Kate Moss range.
I have tried a few shades from the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick line
and the formula is pretty much the same for each shade.
They each have a sweet candy type scent that you'll either love or loathe
once applied the scent is undetectable so it shouldn't affect wear.
The lipsticks are neither dry nor moisturising, somewhere in-between the two formulas.
I found shade 01 to glide on with ease and provide even opaque coverage.
The finish has a slight sheen but not a gloss type of finish so you may want to add that later.
The wear time does depend on the shade you buy,the deep shades last around 5 hours
where as the light shades fair around the 3 hour mark.
Shade 01 is a deep Bordeaux red that looks fairly brown in bullet form,
unlike some reds you can see from the get go that this is cool in tone with a blue undertone.
Yet swatched and applied it transforms into a cherry red shade almost a true red
which is much more wearable for the majority than a red wine type of shade.
Shade 01 does require a liner and/or a lip sealant as the shade does tend to bleed.
One note is that Shade 01 which can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on your view point.
Round Up - A cherry red lipstick that has a slight sheen finish and stains the lips.
Best For - Those seeking a budget true red shade.
Pigmentation - (9/10) This is really pigmented and stains.
Availability - Most Rimmel counters such as Boots and Superdrug 4g/£5.49
