It has been a while since I bought any new Revlon Color Burst lip glosses
truth is I have been very much enjoying the shades I previously reviewed
and didn't feel the need to add to my small collection.
Well that was until I spotted Sunset Peach...
It is no secret I love things peach, coral, apricot toned particularly when cosmetics are concerned.
My will power simply could not resist the calling of the peachy hued Sunset Peach lip gloss.
Revlon Sunset Peach is a true peach with oodles of golden shimmer.
Technically it is warm in tone due to the golden flecks
but as it is a transparent shade I honestly do feel that the majority of skin tone
will be able to pull this shade off with little problems is any.
For a drugstore brand the packaging is faultless,
it is sleek with a subtle nudge to the mother ship that is Chanel
thanks to the quilted engraving on the lids.
The clear tubing makes it a breeze to spy what shade is housed inside
and the doe foot applicators is slightly better than the bog standard ones
due it to it being flat and super flexible so it works with the lips.
That being said I would still prefer a brush time applicator
but we can't win every battle!
I bet you are wondering why I am so fond of Revlon Colour Burst lip glosses?
Well unlike my past experiences with lip gloss, (which are so far from positive)
these aren't sticky in the slightest and are comfortable to wear, which is a complete first for me!
They feel creamy, moisturising and light, a joy to wear.
They do however preform like any other lip gloss you'll achieve high shine finish
but very much like a typical lip gloss the wear is typically short 1-2hours max!
Generally they aren't the most pigmented lip products on the market but they do deliver a hint of a tint
and are fragrance free, great for those who have sensitive noses and hate strongly scented lip products.
I bought this with no illusions of it being an opaque shade,
you can pretty much see from the get go that Sunset Peach is sheer
and will deliver more of a glistening effect that it will colour.
My expectations were pretty much on point
as you can see from both my swatches that the shade is very faint
yet delivers a high dose of shimmer particles to the lips.
Quick question -

Thanks for the review. It's clear we are kinda the same person-- I went through my lip products the other day and everything was peach/apricot/light coral. EVERYTHING. It was a little crazy. Try the Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle when they come out in your neck of the woods-- it's a crazy 80s frosted light peach, but I think you might dig it.

ReplyDeleteBaaah. I wanted to love the lip butters so much. Maybe it's the color of my lips but I had a really hard time getting the colors I bought (Tutti Frutti and Candy Apple) to show up on my lips. ; _ ; I hope that your lovely pucker rocks them better than mine!
This blog is a great source of information which is very useful for me. Thank you.
