Charlotte Tilbury Revolutionary Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask Review

Ask anyone why they don't merrily slap on a face mask as often as they'd like and the two main reasons will be: they are messy and time consuming to the point it is near impossible to do anything else. Yes we'd all love to kick back, watch re-runs of Seinfeld with a sheet mask and maybe a slice of pizza or two but realistically that's not always an option - I mean the dishwasher won't load itself. Then along came Charlotte Tilbury's Revolutionary Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask and changed the mask category as we know it.

Heralded as an instant facial in a pretty, rose gold sachet the Charlotte Tilbury Revolutionary Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask could be the game changer busy people worldwide have been waiting for. As the name suggests this is a dry sheet mask - no moisture in terms of texture and admittedly a little tricky to wrap your head around when you are used to face masks in all their guises being wet. Like most - if not all - Charlotte Tilbury products I do think a lot of consideration went into making this a reality which is evident from not only the advanced skin technology but also the fit of the mask; anyone who has ever tried a typical sheet mask will tell you that, really there is only one way to wear it, and that is lying down, which is time restrictive at best. The great thing about the dry Charlotte Tilbury Mask is that it has been constructed for a snug fit and that includes ear loops to keep it securely attached to your face/head, freeing up your hands and of course time, to get on with other things should you wish (not mandatory, I fully support a slob out/pampering session). Genius.

Speaking of all things clever, we can't ignore the obvious and that is that this is indeed a dry sheet mask and as such has a unique process of skin revitalisation and that is called biomimetic delivery system - I won't bore you with the specifics but this essentially works by injecting the skin with tiny particles of high quality and pure ingredients (vitamins, floral extracts, peptides, oils and butters) straight into the epidermis (the third layer of skin). By skipping typically wet skin lubricants such as glycerine and water which have no long lasting benefits when manually applied to the skin, the biomimetic delivery system ensures that the skin only absorbs what it needs (great if your complexion is easily overwhelmed), so you get a custom feed with each use and skips any unnecessary ingredient filler components. I also think it is important to mention that as this is a dry, fabric mask it is more suited to acne prone skin types than a wet sheet mask as it doesn't harbour bacteria - for the same reason it can also be used up to three times.

All of the above looks great on paper but does it really work? In a nutshell, yes and I'll be the first to admit I was both hesitant and sceptical that a dry mask could be anything more than a novelty, flash-in-the-pan concept. As with any mask  -wet, dry or sheet - this is what I deem a quick fix, something to quickly boost your skin but to resolve any long term issues you will need to add more than a mask to your regime. What the Charlotte Tilbury Revolutionary Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask is great for is: instantly brightening the skin, it really does leave you with a post facial glow (albeit with a tingling sensation) in the comfort of your own home and in my opinion it does a decent job of both smoothing and hydrating the skin - this is the mask I'd reach for before an important event but not something I would use weekly, purely due to the cost factor. What I do think is great is that you can apply this over your make-up for a quick boost and of course as it is dry, I'd imagine that many may want to reserve their mask for flights.

However you use it, I do think the Charlotte Tilbury Revolutionary Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Masks are a great skincare breakthrough and appluad the brand for forever thinking outside of the box...or should that be jar? I am tenterhooks to see where Charlotte Tilbury will take beauty next.
