It's not often that I will or can write about a product the same day it thuds through my letterbox - I like to take my time in enjoying, using and learning about any new launch or beauty item in general before ever sitting down to gauge my thoughts. Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense Limited Edition is different, the original bottle launched a few months ago and hand on heart, I have wore it fairly religiously over the last few months - my Winter coat is more than testament to that - and as the scent hasn't changed, I can easily share why I think the limited edition version is worth snapping up this coming April.
So no, the Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense Limited Edition is not a new take on the aromatic and decidedly unisex fragrance, rather it is a collectors addition bottle that has been designed exclusively for Harrods - and my gosh what a bottle it is. In my mind, the black, gold and russet accents and detailing wonderful encapsulate the essence and core ingredients used to create Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka; the new flanker reflects the warmth, elegance and extravagance of the fragrance without being overly obvious or dare I say it tacky. For those familiar with the fragrance who have yet to call this their own, I say wait until April and snap up the re-worked bottle - you'll kick yourself otherwise. If like myself you consider this cologne to be one of your signature scents, I'm sure you'll require very minimal persuasion.
There's a reason I dub Jo Malone Myrhh & Tonka Cologne Intense to be the fragrance of 2017 and that is because it crosses boundaries: it is unisex, that is not debatable - it smells equally as great on a female as it does a male, which is not easily accomplished. Myrrh & Tonka also sways between being a creamy yet spicy scent, that will leave you forever guessing and it may just change how you feel about Lavender within fragrance. The latest Jo Malone Cologne Intense addition is cool, quirky, long wearing and the perfect amount of sexy - it is a power player of the fragrance world that demands your attention and yet won't ever overpower a room. I don't say this lightly but try it, I promise you will not be disappointed.
