Jo Malone Cologne Intense 50ml Review

Sooner or later the allure of a Jo Malone store or scent will reel you in, you will want to treat yourself (and you should because you work hard for that money) but you may be put off by the price or the sheer volume of the fragrances - most are 100ml in size. The answer to both dilemmas may be the new 50ml versions of all seven of the iconic Jo Malone Cologne Intense scents - a slightly more affordable and dare I say economical way, to at last own that one Jo Malone fragrance that forever plays on your mind.

Jo Malone Cologne Intense 50ml Review

Yes compared to the original - the 100ml versions of the Jo Malone Cologne Intense - the new 50ml size does appear to be dinky and dare I say cuter than cute but in reality, 50mls of fragrance is still a whole lot of scent and by no means a comprise on quality. Don't believe me? Tonight have a quick route around your existing fragrance collection, you will quickly realise that most bottles will be around the 30ml-50ml mark, so if anything the new Jo Malone size is the norm, rather than a novelty.

Jo Malone Cologne Intense 50ml Review

As you can see, Jo Malone have not created a new style of packaging for the 50ml launch, rather they have simply created a smaller version of the bottle used to house the original and larger colognes - a move that is oh-so aesthetically pleasing and of course on brand too, as in that it is instantly recognisable. To mark the launch, all seven of the Jo Malone Intense fragrances will come presented both in the iconic cream and black gift box (I can't ever bear to throw any of mine away) and protected by a specific to the scent, cardboard slip - it truly does make the purchase that little more special.

For a moment, let's forget that the new available size of the Jo Malone Cologne Intense range comes with a reduced price and talk about why the 50ml addition is worth the investment. As mentioned above 50ml of fragrance is actually a fairly large bottle - all things considered - and as such it does offer several months or years of use - as the name suggests this is the most intense cologne format that Jo Malone offers, in my opinion it is akin to an eau de parfum in terms of power, so a little goes a long way. The new, reduced size is of course marginally more affordable and as such offers those who are fickle, a way to experience the powerful fragrances of Jo Malone with a reduced price and level of commitment - not to mention for the frequent traveller the downsize is a dream come true.

Jo Malone Cologne Intense 50ml Review

At the moment I am currently enjoying Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud Cologne Intense, something that I am utterly surprised about as generally speaking I am not a fan of Oud. What sets this aside from your typical rose fragrance is the complexity and depth of scent, it screams luxury and yet it is both casually cool and sensual. I want to wear it a few more times before properly gauging my thoughts and feelings, but right now I can say that it is a beautiful rose fragrance with an unexpected edge/twist.

With Valentine's and Gal-intine's Day (the latter is my favourite) right around the corner, hint and hint strongly or y'know treat yourself at long last because if you don't love yourself, who will? I truly can justify just about any beauty splurge - ever in a jam and need an excuse? I'm your gal.
