On the Go Daily Essentials

Let's forget what I have in my bag: nobody wants to see half eaten breakfast bars, the odd piece of gum and a few hundred old train tickets. Grim is an understatement. Until I y'know empty my bag and re-evaluate my life, let me share the products I grab and stuff into an already over packed bag to survive a long and often trying day.

As a huge reader, I need something to flick through on the train be that a long or short journey, recently I have been picking up a copy of Hello! Fashion Monthly for daily inspiration (the fashion photography is incredible) and to catch up on what is going to be hot in the coming weeks in terms of clothing and accessories. Unlike other fashion centric magazines, I recommend HFM for beauty lovers too; it always provides the scoop on what has yet to be launched as well as providing plenty of tips and make-up tid-bits. You can subscribe to HFM here and see what all the fuss is about for yourself.

I hate nothing more than a heavy bag so each product within my handbag really has to work to maintain it's place. For that reason I'm a huge fan of multi-purpose palettes and recently there has been no palette more perfect than the now sold out and sadly limited edition, Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette. This nifty kit contains a bronzer, a highlighter, two blushes and various eyeshadows - it is all I ever reach for and I hope that it is re-launched soon. Until then the Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye and Cheek Palette is a great alternative.

For the moment, I have given up carting around loose face powders due to the mess and replaced them with blotting papers. Admittedly they don't quite mattify my skin as well as a setting powder but they are by far more convenient and as the cooler weather rolls around, in theory I should be less oily by default. I'm not really fussy when it comes to blotting papers, rather I use whatever I can lay my hands on, and at the moment that happens to be DHC Oil Blotting Papers which are a snip at just £4 for 100 sheets.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who carts around more lip products than could ever possibly need for one day? I like to pack a nude liner as it pretty much goes with everything (at the moment I can't get enough of the Essence lip liners), a moisturising but bright lip colour for everyday wear (ByTerry Hyaluronic Sheer Rouge lip colours are the best - a hybrid of lip balm and lipstick) and a deeper shade for the evening, as a just in case precaution (at the moment all I reach for is the new Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colours)

Lastly I have a hand cream (a super moisturising and beautifully scented tube from Neal's Yard), a sweetly scented hand sanitizer for combating day to day grime, a 30ml bottle of Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey Cologne (the perfect scent and size for a daily pick me up), and a few clean eye brushes because you can't really be too prepared, now can you?

What's currently in your handbag...well other than loose change and receipts?
