The Gin and Tonic Based Scent You'll Be Wearing All Summer

Escentric 02 Eau de Toilette

Do you recall when the original Escentric Module fragrance hit the blog-o-sphere, the unusual and often figgy yet clean scent was all many could rave about - myself included. Well strap yourself in for another ride as there is now no less than two other unique Escentric Module eau de toilettes to try. My current favourite and general warm weather recommendation has to be Esentric 02 - a fresh and slightly fruity fusion of notes that is the perfect bright, carefree unisex scent for the upcoming Summer.

Escentric 02 Eau de Toilette

Much like the line of Escentric Module fragrances the packaging very much ties into the simple, modern and suit all aesthetic. Unlike other eau de toilettes this is not a scent you will purchase exclusively for the bottle, rather the sweet almost citrus notes inside do all the talking and I rather like that. The real gimmick, or rather unique selling point of the Escentric Module fragrance range is that each scent is composed purely on Science and what is most appealing the brain chemically. It sounds terribly complex when really it isn't, each Escentric scent forms part of a duo that focuses on rare aroma-molecules (all of which are synthetic) that appeal to each and every nose - and of course settle differently on everyone. Genius.

Escentric 02 Eau de Toilette

I don't know about you but when I think of a Gin and Tonic (not my tipple of choice), I instantly think of lemon, limes and instant refreshment - and this is exactly what Esentric 02 delivers. On my skin it dries down to a soft, sunny and very much citrus blend, that is somewhat reminiscent of Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue yet a little more unexpected and dare I say refined. Unlike the vast majority of fragrances, there is no endless list of notes; rather Escentric 02 contains 13.5% Ambroxan, chosen to amplify its mineral note with hedione (green jasmine bud), a ‘gin and tonic’ accord, and the Austrian lemonade called almdudler. Yep I've lost myself there via cut and paste but what you should take away from the above is that this is a crisp, almost green yet citrus fresh scent that is sharp and unlike anything else I have experienced.

Forget a Gin and Tonic (if you can), this is the tall glass of icy refreshment that you will revisit time and time again.
