Skin and sleep - two areas of my life that are less than perfect and to an extent I am okay with that; I mean there are far more pressing issues in the world than my current breakout but what if there was a quick and easy solution? A supplement that helps the skin to repair as you sleep and promote a more restful night of sleep, let me introduce you to Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Supplement - my somewhat secret weapon against sleepless nights, but since we are buddies I'll happily let you in on my new find.
I'm sure it goes without saying that before taking any supplement, it is best to consult a health care specialist; I have no idea what is best suited to your needs and would hate to cause anyone any form of harm. Now that we have the disclaimer (and I mean it) out of the way let me share a few thoughts on Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Supplement, a product that I didn't truthfully have hopes for but have stuck with for two months now - yes really, as a matter of a fact I've just ordered my second bottle.
Like most, I'm a little wary of supplements, I don't always know what is best for me and don't like to dabble around with vitamins et al, unless professionally guided. Let's face it, it is so easy to take the wrong thing and dosage for that matter, which of course would be counter productive. The beauty of (serendipitous pun and all) Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Supplement is that each ingredient is carefully measured to ensure that for most, if not all of us, the above problems don't happen - there is zero guess work, which I find makes life a lot easier. All you have to do is swallow one capsule with water before bed and leave your digestive system to do the rest.
Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Supplement is all you wanted from a good night's sleep and more, each dosage contains Hyaluronic Acid which helps to plump and hydrate the skin from the inside and out, as well as encouraging the skin to naturally retain moisture. This is along with Zinc and Vitamins B6 and B12 to not only help the nervous system but also to promote healthy skin, nails and hair. For fatigue both the feeling and the visual side effects - dull skin, dark circles etc, Pantothenic Acid has been added to the blend. The idea is that all of the above ingredients boost the skin's natural night-time regeneration as you sleep - aka more beautiful, youthful and glowing skin as you catch 40 winks.
Now all of the above is more than enough to convince me to add Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Supplement to my pre-bed routine, however this truly is the supplement that keeps on giving. Along with boosting your beauty sleep so to speak, Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Supplement may also help you fall asleep a little easier and encourage a deeper slumber. This supplement relies on Lemon Balm and Chamomile to help you to relax and unwind, for best effect you should take around an hour before you crawl into bed. I can personally vouch that around one week into my trial, I noticed that I fell asleep pretty much as soon as my head hit the pillow, rather than my usual tossing and turning for hours. Bliss.
Thus far I can't comment on if Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Supplement has improved my skin as I don't typically suffer from dull or dry skin, the two areas in which I would imagine would be the first noticeable signs of repair. I have however noticed that my nails have been growing like crazy and are less prone to splitting. Other than that my sleep pattern and quality has improved which in turn will help prevent against premature ageing and really that is all I can ask for.
Admittedly the Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Supplements won't be for everyone and that is okay but for me, this is as much a part of my evening beauty routine as brushing my teeth. I'm hooked.
