I'm told time and time again that the neck area is one of the first places to show age and as such it is somewhere I should be taking better care of, or risk regretting it in later life. Do I heed such advice? Honestly not nearly as diligently as I should; sure I massage a little excess facial moisturiser onto my neck area when I remember but there is no real conscience effort. My current mindset is that if I perhaps have a separate product just for my neck, a product constantly gleaming at me each time I do the rest of my facial routine, I will be guilted into catering for such area. So far, so good and the product responsible for my change of tune is Origins Plantscription Powerful Lifting Neck and Décolleté Treatment.
Origins Plantscription Powerful Lifting Neck and Décolleté Treatment is an expansion of the already popular Plantscription range, a collection of anti-ageing products typically aimed at those 30+. Regular readers will know that I am a huge believer on only using what the skin needs, no harsh ingredients for young complexions - save it for when you need it and don't over complicate your routine. Having said that I am going to be a complete hypocrite and say that I am actually enjoying using Origins Plantscription Powerful Lifting Neck and Décolleté Treatment, yes it is aimed at more mature skin needs but as it isn't stuffed with harsh ingredients, I can see no real harm and hope that by getting into the habit of treating my neck and chest area as a preventive measure.
As it goes, as we age the skin on our neck also looses volume and elasticity - visual signs can include a crepe-y appearance and sagging. I'm not scared of growing old but I want to do age as well as I humanly can and if that means adding one more lotion or potion to my beauty stash so be it.
Much like the other products within the Origins Plantscription range, Origins Plantscription Powerful Lifting Neck and Décolleté Treatment is fairly rich yet not at all overly thick, nor slow to absorb into the skin. Rather this is best described as a silky serum-like-lotion (a little goes a long way), quick, easy to apply and perhaps fairly important hydrating without an overwhelming greasy texture. Essentially this is light and gentle enough for those like myself trying to establish, a routine and yet intense enough for anti-ageing needs and purposes. As you can imagine the ingredients live up to the powerful claims: it features Anogeissus (a type of Birch), Crithmum (a flowering plant), Arabica seed extract and Bamboo extract all of which help to improve and prevent signs of ageing skin by: lifting, firming and re-contouring the skin’s appearance. As an added bonus this neck specific product may also help to brighten and lighten the skin - ideal if you have noticed a few age spots or general discolouration.
Ask me in forty or so years if all this additional step within my skincare routine was worth the effort - gosh can you imagine if I was still blogging then? A girl I will not be, maybe the Sunday Sassy Woman of a Certain age will be more apt - I so very hope so.

OMG! I never take care of my neck! About two weeks ago I purchase my first neck cream. I still haven't used it! After this post...I should!!

I have never even heard of a neck cream but it's such a smart idea! There's so much emphasis placed on keeping our faces looking young and not wrinkly - you wouldn't even think to wonder about your neck! I'll definitely have to try this out x

To be honest the only time I ever apply any product to my neck is when I've dispensed too much product for my face so to not waste it I apply it to my neck. As I'm approaching my mid-30s I probably should try and remember to actually start using products there x

You are very wise to start looking after your skin now instead of trying to repair it later.
