We are all friends here, right? Cool because let me hit you with some real talk: at first I wasn't sold on This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, I thought it was all hype and not worth the investment. I'm pretty sure somewhere in the vaults I have a less-than-glowing review circa 2013, stating just that. If only I could take myself a side back then, have a stern chat and stick with the spray a little longer, I'm more than sure I would have saved myself a restless night or two.
You see This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray isn't the most sweetly scented of products, it is far from unsavoury, it just takes a little getting used to that's all and this may be where it looses the odd user. The Deep Sleep Pillow relies on the power of aromatherapy - using natural oils to gently soothe, relax and comfort even the most tightly wound of people (yep that's me). The two central notes of This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray are Lavender and Vetivert, which combine with wild chamomile to create a sleepy yet herbal scent; in my opinion it is a little stronger than other sleep sprays, perhaps that is why it is so potent? If I had to compare the fragrance of This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray to one thing, it would be a more refined version of Sudocrem. Bizarre on paper yet oddly relaxing and dare I say sleepy in person.
It could be argued that perhaps This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray is nothing more than a placebo, the power of suggestion is a wonderful thing but I like to think this deeply-scented sleep aide is more than that. You see I've tried several, if not tens of dream inducing products and very few work. A light mist of This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray over my duvet and pillows (if in a hotel I do mist a few sprays into the centre of the room) and within minutes I am deeply relaxed and feeling rather sleepy. If that is not enough I often find that when I use the This Works spray my quality of sleep is improved (I have a deeper slumber and don't awaken several times during the night for no good reason), which I am putting down to being in a blissful, serene mood before falling asleep.
Will This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray cure insomnia? Probably not but it will help those who are a little restless drift off to sleep that little easier. I can't recommend it enough and will forever have a bottle on my bedside table - how times (and my sleep patterns) have changed.

There's some small bottles in the Space.NK sale at the moment which I'd recommend to begin with :) I think it is £5!
DeleteI was lucky enough to receive this as a Christmas present and I completely agree with you! It is a good nights sleep in a bottle and I am totally in love with the scent!

For me it took a little convincing but now I'm hooked :)
DeleteI'm a total convert to this stuff! I've been layering it with the Sleep Plus one which I think I slightly prefer (but really I don't want to choose...). I agree with Inma that it doesn't necessarily help if I'm having a restless, lots of things in my head type of night, but it makes an average night's sleep good and a good night's sleep amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe last line of your comment is what I wanted to say in my review haha :) you hit the nail on the head perfectly. I haven't tried the plus one version yet but I think I may...curiosity and all :)
DeleteThis sounds investing i might get some my self!
ReplyDeleteI can't recommend it enough :)
DeleteI love Deep Sleep. It smells so good, very relaxing. I ran out, I need to buy a new bottle.
ReplyDeleteI've seen it in a few sales so browse around before hitting that order button!
DeleteIt makes perfect sense, I would agree with you - it doesn't necessarily make me fall asleep there and then but it helps me to unwind :) I am hooked!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a night owl and in my current situation my bed time is usually around 2am, however I do suffer with periods of insomnia that sees me sometimes not drifting off to sleep until 3/4am. I also do have a problem with relaxing once in bed. I tend to hold my body stiff, particularly my legs, and sometimes it's really difficult to try and get them to relax. I'd love to try a product like this but I have one major problem, they all contain lavender, and as well as hating the smell (I actually recoil from it) I discovered a few years ago I'm actually allergic to it. So I'm not sure what I could try to try and help me x

I was given a This Works cracker for Christmas with a little bottle of this inside. I've definitely found that it helps me to relax quicker and can stop being so restless through the night. I will definitely pick up the bigger bottle xx
