Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Perfect Matte Primer

As an oily skinned gal I live for a new, life altering primer - perhaps a slight exaggeration but I do really enjoy and swear by priming my skin. The newest primer on the block is Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Perfect Matte Primer, a mouthful of a title with a hefty price tag to boot (£42). However if you do struggle with an overly oily complexion and have grown to loathe the texture of heavy, silicone laden products and flat finishes, Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Perfect Matte Primer is what you have been waiting for.

Let's begin with the texture, an aspect that often makes or breaks a skin care purchase - Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Perfect Matte Primer has a light, loose fluid consistency that is cooling, oddly refreshing and feels almost weightless once absorbed by the skin. I'd liken it to an everyday moisturiser, there is no noticeable silicone feel and a little goes a long way. If that is not impressive enough it sinks into the skin meaning you do not have to wait around to apply foundation or any other cosmetic products on top.

As you can purchase mattifying primers on the UK high street for less than £10, you'd be entirely right for expecting the ingredient line up to be stellar. Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Perfect Matte Primer isn't your typical silicone heavy primer, rather it relies on Rice Powder to gently absorb excess sebum, Swiss Alpine Flower which is a natural anti-inflammatory which may help regulate oil production. If that is not enough it also contains Niacinamide that over time will gently brighten skin tone and may encourage cell turn over to fade facial scarring, such as old acne scars. Lastly combined with a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) SPF 15, Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Perfect Matte Primer contains Berryflux Vita which is a powerful antioxidant derived from raspberry stem cells, that may improve moisture levels and even out skin tone.

As impressive as the ingredients may be what I am really sold on is the finish, this liquid primer simply glides onto my skin, leaving my skin perfectly matte yet never flat. Forget primers that leave the skin feeling dried out, Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Perfect Matte Primer absorbs excess oil leaving the complexion appearing naturally matte yet somewhat radiant. Forget glitter, forget powder finishes - this is your skin at its natural, shine free best. If that is not enough to have you adding this to your beauty wish list, I should also add that make-up, particularly liquid foundation wear time is significantly prolonged, oil is controlled throughout the day and to keep you coming back for more, it gently blurs imperfections such as fine lines and enlarged pores.

I'll admit that at £42, Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Perfect Matte Primer is not my most budget friendly recommendation but it does deliver and goes far beyond the pail of your normal, oil controlling primer. For that reason alone (and of course the less than greasy skin) I can not recommend it enough and don't feel a little guilty for splurging.
