Best put Clarins Instant Light Lips Comfort Oils are skin care merged with make up (and one of, if not the first lip product of this type); if you can, imagine the instant nourishment of a skin oil combined with a hint of a tint and a glossy finish. Clever and perhaps the one product, that will sway even the firmest matte lipstick lover away from flat finishes...well maybe, sometimes only a matte lip product will do.
Now I know what you are thinking (I had a similar train of thought) - "I bet they are sticky", if they look like a gloss, shine like a gloss, they surely must have a tacky, stick to everything texture. Nope, not even close. I won't pretend that the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils are weightless because they are not; they have a somewhat oily, almost balm like feel on the lips but sticky they are not. They will not encourage your hair to stick to your lips (maybe leave them at home on a windy day just to be safe) nor are they uncomfortable at all to wear. The oil base allows the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils to quickly and gently glide over even the most chapped of lips, for instant hydration and comfort. As a side note I have to praise the large and somewhat wide doe foot applicator - it really does aid application, ensuring even application and minimal waste of product.
Now back to the skin care aspect, this is not your typical lip moisturiser, Clarins Instant Light Lips Comfort Oils contain a wide range of natural oils to ensure that your lips are protected all Winter long. The core ingredients for both oils are identical: Hazelnut oil to nourishes, plump and soften the lips, Organic Jojoba oil has been added to offer a hydrating, silky sheen all without a hint of greasy residue; it has also been included to soothe and rescue chapped, Winter beaten skin. Each lip oil also contains stand alone additions - for instance Honey features Mirabelle oil which is renowned for helping prevent dehydration, where as Raspberry contains Raspberry oil (you wouldn't have expected anything less now would you?) to shield and prevent premature ageing. I find unlike other lip treatments the oil base continues to heal, soothe and nourish long after the glossy finish has worn off.
The downside? Well price aside, the sheerness of the product - Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils only offer a hint of a tint. Please do not underestimate just how sheer the Lip Comfort Oils are, in my opinion this allows the shades to be entirely universal (and adaptable in terms of layering over other lip products too) but those hoping for a pigmented finish may be disappointed. For the record, I have really light lips and neither shade as much as tints my lips, rather they provide a subtle, almost natural, glossy sheen.

Have you tried the YSL Tint-in.oil? It's more expensive tho..but I loved it *.*

I loved the look of these when they first came out but had no idea they were limited edition and that they sold out as quickly as they appeared! Now they're permanent I might try one at some point to see how they fare against my super dry lips x

I love glossy finish products that are not sticky! They are pricey but I might invest in one and try it out!
