Tom Ford Boys Lipsticks Holiday 2015

Last year Tom Ford cosmetics unveiled a collection of mini and then limited edition lipsticks, all of which were affectionately named after men within Mr Ford's life. A beautiful and somewhat sentimental line up, that had the majority of us swooning and purchasing a good few shades - I was no exception. I still kick myself for not purchasing the shade Adriano on the day of release, as it quickly sold out. The good news is that the Tom Ford Boys will back this coming October and even better, not only will they be permanent but 25 new boys will join the line up...that's 50 mini Tom Ford lipsticks to pick and choose from!

Nestled in my collection was three shades from the original drop of Tom Ford Boys, three shades that I had yet to use as the thought of not being able to replace them was heartbreaking. A little silly, given it is only lipstick; a product with a shelf life and an item created to be enjoyed not hoarded. None the less once the news hit social media, I put my three dinky little lipsticks into good practise.

As you can see the Tom Ford Boys lipsticks are approximately half the size of an original Tom Ford and if last year is anything to go by, they should retail for £27 each (roughly £10 cheaper than a full sized Tom Ford lipstick). The beauty of the sizing is that they perfectly fit into even the smallest of handbags, pockets and anywhere else you may see fit. I also think they are the ideal choice for anyone who struggles to finish a lipstick and as a result, feels guilty. The fact that all fifty shades sport a male moniker is sheer genius; not only is it an original concept but every person has at least one important male within their life - this is what makes them so collectable.

The three shades I have are: Colin, Henry and Sebastian - three wearable and perhaps suit all shades, that are perfect for everyday wear. Colin is a mid toned, slightly blue tinged dusty rose shade that beautifully echoes the current trend for deep nude lip colours - it reminds a little of MAC Whirl. Tom Ford Henry lipstick is a golden toned, almost chocolate brown that would translate to a light nude on deeper complexions. Lastly we have Sebastian which I deem to be a wild card, a shade that not everyone will gravitate towards but is oddly flattering. Tom Ford Sebastian is a metallic copper shade, that leans more brown than it does orange and looks equally mesmerising on tanned complexions as it does deep and pale. If you want a luxury yet unusual lipstick purchase this is the shade for you.

As to be expected the Tom Ford Boys lipstick formulation is exactly the same as the full sized lipsticks: rich in pigment, creamy, moisturising and long wearing. There are very few lipsticks I enjoy wearing more than a Tom Ford shade - expensive yes but beautifully formulated so that the price tag feels justified.

What names are you hoping to see within the new Tom Ford Boys collection?
I'm counting down the days until they launch in October.
