I am loyal to my beloved Tangle Teezer, well as loyal as anyone can be to a hair brush. My bright yellow and orange Tangle Teezer has helped de-tangle my hair more times than I can count but for blow drying my hair I do have to switch back to a normal brush. The original Tangle Teezer was not created for use with heat and would surely melt and warp should you do so; to solve such woe the brand have introduced Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Brushes. Two sturdy brushes that glide through the hair, de-tangle and of course can withstand heat. Oh but there is so much more to this brush technology than meets the eye...
The Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Brushes have teeth rather than bristles, admittedly the design can seem a little daunting to begin with but there is reasoning behind the seemingly madness. The teeth not only grip the hair to hold taunt for ease of styling (ideal for blow drying hair straight) but also help to remove excess water which in turn will speed up the drying process. The Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Brushes have been designed as such to allow the air of the hair dryer to flow freely within the paddle of the brush, this results in no snagging or additional damage to the hair. Weirdly the brush also helps to reduce frizz while styling which is something I really value and have noticed each time I have used it. In the current humidity this alone is enough to encourage me to not only use the Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Brush but recommend it to anyone who suffers from frizz prone hair.
Much like make-up brushes hair brushes need to be cleansed, as this is made from soft rubber it is a breeze to not only keep the paddle clean but also remove any trapped hair. The only downside and for some it may be a welcomed feature, is the weight of the brush - it is rather heavy and can for that reason be a nuisance to work with. As someone who has not only long but also thick hair styling can be a length process and the weight of this brush can result in an aching arm. Maybe I need to spend a little longer at the gym and less time grumbling about hair brushes?
I should mention that the Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Brushes come in two sizes: half paddle and full paddle. I have the half paddle and find it more than substantial enough in size to blow dry my hair, which is now hip length, pin straight in less than 20 minutes. For most I'd imagine the half paddle would be more than ideal but it is nice to have to size options as one size never really fits all.

This looks like a really nice brush! I haven't tried any brushes by Tangle Teezer before but will be having a look at this one, great review.

I like the sound of this, although I don’t blow dry my hair enough to justify buying this brush!

This sounds good, I always wanted my Tangle Teezer to have a handle! If it helps dry my hair quicker even better!

My hair is very thick so the full paddle size would be perfect x

I really need to purchase a tangle teezer! I've heard so many wonderful things about this brush, but never tried it. Now that there's one that can be used with heat, this would be great. :)

I love my regular tangle teezer so this is definitely something I want to try!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so exciting! I am also loyal to my tangle teezer as it gets rid of my tangles without provoking my frizz, and it is such a shame I can't use it for styling. I'll definitely be on the look out for this, its just a shame about the price! x

I absolutely love the idea of this brush as I prefer to blow dry instead of using straighteners too much. I will definitely be checking it out - thanks for sharing :) xx

This is such a good idea! I have been loyal to my Tangle Teezer for almost 6 years now though, so I'm not sure if I would try this out, but I still love the concept.
