Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream is one of my favourite products ever, I use it pretty religiously and recommend it to just about anyone who will listen. Well imagine my utter delight when I was handed a bottle of Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Sun Defense for Face SPF50, it was like Christmas for this SPF obsessed lady (can I call myself a lady?).
At just over £22 I completely understand it will take a little persuading to hand over that amount of cash for one product but unlike other SPF's this has additional benefits. Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Sun Defense for Face SPF50 not only contains a high SPF count making it great not only for everyday use but should you visit a hot climate too. What I particularly like is that it has a slightly yellow tint that disappears once absorbed; it shows me where I have applied and more importantly where I have missed, and encourages me to really massage the product into my skin.
I know what you are thinking surely a tints kid SPF would do the same thing? Yes and no, yes a kids SPF will be tinted but most are not formulated for use on the face. As Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Sun Defense for Face SPF50 is a facial sunscreen it is non-greasy not to mention almost weightless, quick to absorb and does not affect any make-up applied on top should you wish to use it in such manner. The other added bonus is that being part of the 8 Hour Cream franchise it not only protects the skin but moisturises and repairs too. If you have dry skin or simply want a little extra TLC to go along with your facial SPF this is one worth investing in, it really is a do it all product. I am so enamoured that I would love for a body version of this product to be introduced into the line up, who doesn't want an SPF that is non-greasy, soothing and highly protective too?
As a side note my friend has eczema and finds a lot of SPF stings and further irritates her skin yet this one does not. I must stress that neither of us are dermatologist (not by a long shot) but if everything else has failed you this could be a product worth looking into?

I have a huge confession - I have never, ever, tried the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream! However, I have struggled to find a face SPF cream suitable for use under make-up that doesn't make my face look greasy, so this recommendation has come at the right time and is highly appreciated. I think I would be happy to part with £22 for a great product.

Must be a good product from Elizabeth but is it Zinc Based?

SPF 50 for a facial sunscreen is so fab. I've only found SPF 25ish previously so I wish I'd known about this sooner!

This sounds like such a lovely facial SPF, and I've actually been in the market for one lately! I love how high the SPF is and how long lasting it is, 8 hours is so, so great. x

There are so many amazing summer products coming out at the moment! So much so that I am so ridiculously jealous of everyone in the Northern Hemisphere! Bring on our Aussie summer. I love products like these though, because you should use them all year round, including in winter.
ReplyDeletePlus, I kind of love Elizabeth Arden!

This sounds like such a lovely product for the summer. I have never found a face cream that is SPF50. I need to keep this in mind when holiday shopping.
