Olivia Palmero is undoubtedly a style icon, effortlessly cool and forever classy so it only made sense that she teamed up with fashion forward nail brand Ciate. Olivia Palmero's first foray into the world of nails provides us with three limited edition polishes, all of which have the ability to become staple shades - heck you could purchase all three and create a great, classic nail wardrobe? The obvious choice for me has to be Olivia Palmero for Ciate Nail Polish in Sundays; a soft pink, tinged nude - how could I resist?
As mentioned above three shades are more classic than one week wonders - yes the Olivia Palmero for Ciate Nail Polishes are a little on the pricey side at £17 per polish opposed to the usual £7 price bracket. However I do feel each shade will offer a lot of wear, the price can somewhat be justified. The three shades are as follows: Hutch "My go to red" - A bright, classic, blue toned red. Nantucket "My hot vacation coral" - a bright, yellow toned coral and Sundays "My off duty nude" - a light, sugary pale pink come nude.
"I wanted to create a unique nail polish that not only plumped out and cushioned nails but left them strong and resilient...as soon as I swiped this polish on my nails, I knew it was the one! With fortifying shellac to protect and defend, I am smitten with the color selections and confident in the knowledge my mani will stay super glossy and gorgeous." - Olivia Palermo.
I would consider myself to be fairly well acquainted with the Ciate formula and truthfully can't say that I have noticed all that much of a difference in the formula, despite the price difference. The good news is that in general Ciate polish is well formulated so no complaints there. Ciate Nail Polish in Sundays may be a little on the sheer side but it applies evenly and dries quickly to a high gloss finish. If you a quick wash of colour one coat would be more than suffice but to become fully opaque Ciate Nail Polish in Sundays (the name Sundays is a nod to her husband) does require three coats. Either way it is a truly beautiful shade that gives a chic, low maintenance groomed effect with next to no effort. I've been wearing the shade Sundays for three days now (without a top or base coat I hasten to add) with no chips!
I'm excited to see what future collaborations (there are three more to come) will be in-store between Olivia Palmero and Ciate Nails - I think she'd nail (pun fully intended) a Autumn/Winter line up don't you?

I love the sound of these - especially Nantucket! I wish the mark-up wasn't quite so high but they're definitely a lovely product. I find the formula of Ciate nail polishes to be really good too.

Gorgeous, feminine colour!

I think these are a little too expensive for me, £17 is a lot for a nail varnish although the colour is gorgeous

I love the look of this, plus the packaging is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSara - She Who Is Short
I don't think I have ever spend anything over £5 for a nail polish but this shade is very tempting. I love the natal pale pink shade and I can almost see myself wearing it sheer as well as opaque! x

I do love the colours but think the price mark-up is a bit steep, still it's a lovely collaboration!

ReplyDeleteHow would you say this color compares with Essie’s Fiji? I’ve been thinking about giving this color a shot, but if they’re similar I’d rather save my money.
