Skin care reviews will be few and far between until my acne issue is resolved. At the moment I can not afford to chop, change and further risk irritation. I will however feature tried and tested acne skin care products should I find them but that is some way off. Blemishes aside I have been suffering from really dry skin that just can not be quenched - a problem that is entirely new to me as the owner of a formerly oily complexion. On a whim I purchased Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré.
"Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is a rich moisturising lotion. A creamy lotion that is really three products in one: the make-up artists use it as a primer, moisturiser, and make-up remover. It also reduces irritation after shaving!"
From the get go I am going to say that this is a great light yet rich moisturiser that does make light work of the driest of skin. It soothes, hydrates and calms in one quick step. The reason Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is held in such high regard within the beauty world is due to make-up artists using it as a primer come make-up remover. Imagine being a catwalk model or on shoot with several make-up changes your skin is bound to become irritated as this is somewhat forms a barrier on top of the skin irritation is prevented. However for daily use I am afraid I wouldn't recommend it.
I am not typically against mineral oil (which is present in many skin care products) but couple that with a fairly outdated ingredient list and you end up with blocked pores and of course blemishes. The first week or so of use was wonderful, my skin was plump, hydrated and free of tightness which was wonderful. With continued use my skin broke out producing more whiteheads than I could count. I'm sure some will read this and blame my acne - my acne is cystic which more often than not is large, under the skin almost boil like blemishes not your run of the mill whiteheads. I'm sure my already sensitised complexion didn't help but what is very telling that after casting Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré aside the little pimples healed and ceased to exist.
I am afraid this is one skin care product I could not get on board with. I am now using my tube as a hand/foot cream - waste not, want not.

Ohh it is unfortunate that this did not live up to expectations! ^ 3 ^

I've seen this brand included in beauty boxes but never received it for myself. I am curious about it as it might work for my dry skin but not sure if I want to try it after reading it caused you more white head. :-/

If I were you I'd head on over to Caroline Hirons blog and read her acne cheat sheet, down the right hand side. She's helped many people with acne. Good luck with clearing it up.
ReplyDeleteToo bad it didn't work for you! :(

Definitely don't understand the hype of this one! I haven't tried it but the ingredients list isn't impressive... much better moisturizers out there.

Aw, I'm sad that it didn't work for you. I loved this product and used up a big tube of it. I ended up needing a more hydrating moisturizer and stopped using it. Skincare is very personal though and so I can understand why some people don't like it / can't use it.
