Pixi Glow Tonic is more of a do it all product rather than your typical toner. I personally like to think of it as a toner come exfoliant thanks to the 5% Glycolic Acid inclusion. This gently removes dead skin cells revealing brighter, plumper and dare I say it more youthful skin. If like myself you see the words acid and think ouch - worry not, this has to be one of the most gentle and soothing toners out there which I'm guessing is down to the addition of Aloe Vera. On the skin it feels cooling and beyond gentle - there is no sting what so ever even on sensitised skin. Along with Aloe Vera and Glycolic Acid the active ingredients are Ginseng, Fructose to tighten and brighten the complexion. To use simply cleanse your face as normal, pat the skin dry and using a cotton pad sweep a little of the liquid over the entire face, avoiding the eye area. Pixi Glow Tonic is not only gentle enough to be used daily but can be used morning and night should you wish - I personally only use this in the evening.
Reading about the ingredients and what they do is fine and dandy but does this work? In word yes! Having oily skin I do find that certain moisturisers and serums can sometimes sit on top of my skin rather than absorb properly, since incorporating Pixi Glow Tonic into my routine I find this is less of a problem (foundation also sits on my face better now too). As someone who doesn't typically like gritty exfoliants for the face as I tend to "scrub" a little too vigorously, especially when I have dry patches this is perfect liquid alternative. It really is gentle yet yields great results even if you have sensitive skin. After a few uses (four or five) I found any dry patches to be greatly reduced, my skin was softer to the touch and brighter too! Although Pixi don't mention it to be a benefit, I have found the Glow Tonic to be great in helping to reduce red marks left behind from new blemishes i.e preventing them from becoming a permanent scar. I will be entirely honest in saying it hasn't been effective on old scars as of yet (three months of testing thus far) but will update should that change. As a side note I do find this helps in keeping my pores clear which in turn gives the appearance of smaller pores, less blackheads and my skin is somewhat more balanced especially my forehead (my oiliest area).
In a nutshell if you want a product that will leave the skin not only feeling softer but looking brighter and clearer all the while being gentle this is what you have been waiting for. Very few products are deserving f the hype they create but in Pixi Glow Tonic it is more than justified.

I feel ashamed that I have never heard of this product. I've tried other products by this brand, but have never noticed this one. I am in need for a toner and have been on the fence as to which one to get (there's so many good ones out there), and for a couple weeks have gone without. Decisions, decisions! This is probably the most affordable one out of the others on my list, so I'll look into this. Thank you!

I've heard good things about this toner but I have yet to try it since I have really dry and sensitive skin so I always thought it would irritate it even more. x

I've heard nothing but good things about this and I'm definitely tempted! For the moment, I'm using the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pad, which have a similar aim, and I'm really liking them! :)

How often do you use it? I have it, but I don't know if it's too harsh for everyday use?
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to try this ever since Caroline Hirons recommended it. It's hard to find in the USA and every time I try to order it it's sold out!
ReplyDeleteI read it as gin and tonic lol

Such a coincidence as I bought this today, just used it for the first time and I think I'm gonna love it! Can't wait to see the difference in a week :)

I saw the words "tonic" and "exfoliating" and thought this toner was going to sting like that Clinique one but I'm glad you cleared that up fast XD sounds like an amazing product

I heard so many good things about this but I actually found it broke me out, I think it was the witch hazel? It's a shame, I wanted to love it because it is a much cheaper option than other products containing glycolic. So lucky to have it work for you!
ReplyDeleteIt is a staple for me as well although I find it to be slightly drying so I use it in a combination with a hydrating toner.
ReplyDeletethis looks good, a strange colour for a toner. Ive never heard of this but i would give it a try :)

This is something I have always wanted to try due to the exfoliating properties, although at the moment I am loving Serozinc! Perhaps next time..

Nice review. Seen many people using this on youtube so was a good read. Still not sure if it's worth a try for £18 though. Maybe to treat myself.
