I am a huge fan of gel cleansers, especially if they happen to have the melting in the title. For reference my favourite ever cleanser of this type is Clarins but at £17.50 a tube I do like to keep an eye out for more barginous versions. Enter Superdrug B.Clean Melting Gel Cleanser...
Superdrug B.Clean Melting Gel Cleanser is a light, gel based cleanser that has a very, very similar texture to the Clarins version. If you have yet to experience a gel cleanser for yourself I will be brutally honest in saying the consistency of said product can take a little getting used to. It can feel a little like smearing jelly on you face - thick and a little sticky. I am not a skin care expert far from it but can say that as someone with fairly sensitive skin on occasion that gel cleansers seem to be the most gentle approach for me, the balm like texture comforts and cools my skin and the vast majority can also be used to gently remove eye make-up. The gel base quickly emulsifies when it comes into contact with water making removal easy and pretty effective too where make-up is concerned.
Superdrug B.Clean Melting Gel Cleanser is as good as any other gel cleanser I have tried, even heavy make-up is easily removed. Although B.Clean don't suggest using it on the eye area I have tried it there and can vouch that it easily and quickly removes even waterproof mascara without stinging the eyes. The Superdrug B.Clean Melting Gel Cleanser makes light work of all make-up removal as well as general cleansing, leaves the skin soft, isn't stripping and moisturising enough for dry skin, smells great and does not break out nor irritate my skin. I do wish that both the bottle and site give a little more detail of what ingredients are used but other than that no complaints!

I bought this cleanser a while back but have to say I was quite disappointed. I have sensitive skin and this is definitely gentle on the skin, but in terms of actually cleansing the skin I don't think it does much. I used it a few times in my cleansing routine, which is make up removal with micellar water, cleanse with gel or foaming cleanser and tone, and when I used this cleanser as my second step, I used to have a lot of residue coming off in the toning step, which made me doubt that this cleanser really leaves skin clean at all. I tried it for a good week but eventually gave up as I just didn't feel like it was cleansing the skin properly. Maybe I've just got very clogged up skin haha, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Sorry! x
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try it! x

Sounds like something I'd love to try but too much money for a "cleanser" TBH

Thanks for this review :) Anyway, I'm using Epionce Lytic Gel Cleanser that I bought online from trend-labs.com
ReplyDeleteIt's the best gel cleanser I've ever used :)
I'm desperately trying to get into the hype of gel cleansers so I'm going to be on the look out for this next time I go shopping! Thanks for the recommendation!

ReplyDeleteKerry!
I tell you what - look out for the NSpa range in Asda. Yes, I know! Asda! But I had their melting gel cleanser in a beauty box and it's blooming marvellous. It's so good, I bought some for my daughter. And I've since bought one of their face masks for myself and a bunch of their shower gels.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I may very well get a tube of this Superdrug one for my girl for her Xmas stocking.
I'm glad you reviewed it :) I wasn't so sure in Superdrug haha
