Admittedly the vast majority of dry shampoo's do not warrant their own stand alone post but this is not just any dry shampoo. This nifty white can has finally given me a rival product for my beloved Bumble and Bumble Pret a Powder. So just what is the current object of my hair care affections? Oddly Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo. Yes Dove.
Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo is a breathe of fresh air amongst all the other pocket friendly dry shampoo's out there *side eyes Batiste*. Why? Well first of all it does what you want any dry shampoo to do - refresh the hair. I guess the clue is in the product title. It gently soaks up any natural oils without drying out the hair nor will it produce an irritating coating on the scalp. There are so many dry shampoo's that I simply can not use as they leave me scratching at my head moments after misting it on. Looking like you have fleas is never all that desirable. Oh but there is more Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo doesn't leave that annoying white cast on dark hair tones (I roped in a brunette friend) nor does it leave my blonde hair looking grey. It adds an instant volume boost yet remains light and weightless. Did I mention it smells great? No well it does, clean and somewhat reminiscent of the typical Dove fragrance so many of us grew up on. It lingers on the hair all day long and is a complete saviour for city living - it masks pollution, smoke and everything else less than pleasant.
Do yourself a favour and grab a can next time you are in Superdrug or Boots and tell me you are not converted.
Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo £4.59 or two cans for £5 via Boots - link.
Yep you can bet your sweet cheeks I have already stocked up.
I absolutely love this dry shampoo and it is the only one I use ever since I went to its launch! It smells soooo good and the scent truly lingers the entire day. I prefer it to Batiste way more!

ReplyDeleteI've been looking at this for one of the dry shampoo's to try. I'll defiantly now go grab a bottle, great post you did !
ReplyDeleteI definitely have to give this one a try! Great review :-)
ReplyDeleteI really want to try this. I don't really get on with the Batiste one very well, it irritates my scalp...:(

I got this a short while ago now and didn't like it all that much, although I did use it all up because I hate to waste my money! I found it didn't make my hair feel that clean really and I just used it to make my hair presentable when tying it up into a bun so it didn't look 'slicked back' - wasn't any good for leaving my hair down though. And I still found it left a greyish cast on my hair, a bit disappointing because everyone seems to rave about it - much happier with Batiste (: x

I love this dry shampoo. A couple of weeks ago it was reduced to £1.50 a can in my local boots so I picked up 4 cans! I was worried it was reduced as being discontinued but that doesn't seem to be the case thankfully! x
ReplyDeleteKept thinking I should give this a go, now I'll definitely be picking it up! Thanks for the recommendation!

I have been using this for a couple of weeks & I have been going 4 days without having to wash my hair (sounds gross) but when I wash my hair it takes ages to tame & style it so this dry shampoo has been a god send

My favourite dry shampoo! I was gifted a total of ten bottles for my birthday as it was reduced to clear in Boots :s

I was a Batiste girl- but like you, hated the dry itchy feeling it leaves on my scalp. I was then converted to the Aussie Dry shampoo...AMAZING!! (review onmy blog) I’m yet to try the dove one...but I’m a sucker for the Dove fragrance to i think I’m going to have to try.

This is my favourite dry shampoo. I'm never going to use anything else! Wish they did it in a travel size. Had to take the dreaded Batiste to Glastonbury
ReplyDeleteDry shampoo had been my life saver when I was in high school. Now that I moved to China, I have no idea where to get one :( I don't wanna get it online because some things are fake here. If anyone knows where to get one in China, please let me know.
